This book provides an introduction to spatial planning in the Netherlands. This reappraisal of educational planning, implementing a decision of the Education Committee for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), has two main objectives: to review the evolution of concepts, approaches, and practices of educational planning in member countries during the past 20 years; and to identify new features of planning that can help educational authorities design future policies that take account of changing educational demand and limited financial resources. The book is divided into three thematic parts to give conceptual consistency to the various contributions.
