Baik perjalanan, baik dengan kapal laut maupun dengan transportasi udara, karena baik dari Bawean ke Gresik dan Gresik ke Bawean, pelayanan perjalanan hanya ada tiga kali dalam seminggu. Demikian halnya transportasi udara yang sekarang ini ada hanya ada dua kali seminggu baik dari Bawean ke Surabaya atau sebaliknya, Barangkali fenomena perjalanan ini yang sering menjadi hambatan orang berkunjung ke Pulau Bawean. Namun, ketika orang pernah berkunjung ke Bawean rasanya tidak pernah cukup sekali melihat panorama alam yang indah. Selain itu keramahan masyarakatnya yang “welcome” terhadap orang luar dan keunikan budaya dan kulinernya menjadi “betah” berlama-lama di Pulau Bawean.

Not only did he help me to lay the foundation of my knowledge of archive science, but he was also my guide in a field new to me in many respects, that of Asian maritime trade. His wide knowledge of medieval European trade in the Baltic area led me to compare and contrast the two worlds of East and West and thus helped me to obtain a deeper insight into the differences and similarities between the various problems involved. Since independence in 1965 Singapore has strengthened its own national identity through a conscious process of nation-building and promoting the active role of the citizen within society. The book begins by examining basic concepts of citizenship, nationality and the state in the context of Singapore's arrival at independence.
