A mediados del s. VII se fundó en París un de los centros asistenciales más antiguos y longevos de Europa, que aún cambiando de ubicación e incluso de nombre a lo largo de los siglos, ha seguido prestando servicio a los ciudadanos de la capital francesa hasta nuestros días. El afamado hospital Hôtel-Dieu de París contó en sus orígenes con la ayuda de un grupo de mujeres que voluntariamente prestaban sus cuidados a los enfermos, débiles, huérfanos, ancianos y desvalidos en general que ocupaban sus camas. Ya en el s. XII estas mujeres se constituyeron cono orden religiosa adscritas a la orden de San Agustín y siguieron prestando sus cuidados en el centro hasta la Revolución Francesa. Sobre los principios que las impulsaban; los cuidados que prestaban; los instrumentos, herramientas y técnicas que utilizaban; las instalaciones; la gestión; las categorías de las cuidadoras; la estructura funcional y orgánica del centro, versa este tratado. Recogiendo en sus páginas los mejores y peores hechos que entre sus muros sucedieron. Comenzando con un cuidado abnegado que se fundamentaba en que "(?) las hermanas, en la medida de lo posible, tienen como misión de caridad, el cuidado a los enfermos, que constituye su deber esencial? pero falto de formación. Continuando con asesinatos e infanticidios, rodeados de graves problemas de corrupción y pérdida de capitales. Y terminando por un conflicto de género, religioso y profesional en el que vemos una lucha de este grupo que como mujer estaba sometida al hombre, como religiosa al clérigo y como cuidadora al médico.

The author identifies and explores key similarities in quantum physics and Christology.
