Juan Jesús Gutierro presenta un relevante trabajo sobre la propuesta filosófica de Hans Jonas como conclusión de un arduo y largo trabajo de investigación que incluso ha dado como fruto el descubrimiento de escritos inéditos del citado autor. Ciertamente son muchos y buenos los trabajos realizados en España sobre la propuesta de Hans Jonas, pero casi todos ellos se centran en su propuesta ética: la ética de la responsabilidad. La originalidad de este trabajo consiste en presentar y pensar críticamente, en continuidad con los trabajos que actualmente se están realizando en países como Italia, Brasil y Alemania, los fundamentos filosóficos que, precisamente, posibilitan dicha propuesta ética. Dada la centralidad en él de la corporeidad vital, se podrá asistir a ese titánico combate nombrado, y el lector tendrá la posibilidad de pensarlo críticamente, que pretende no caer ni en el monismo fisicalista ni en el nihilismo aniquilante, evitando, es fundamental, abocar a la necesidad de asumir un dualismo filosófico que impediría una adecuada comprensión tanto de la vida como de la vida humana y, por tanto, de su acción responsable.
