Cuestionar el llamado "tríptico de la mansedumbre", contemplado como clímax de la actividad poética de Antonio Colinas; pero considerarlo como mero pretexto hermenéutico y partir del simbolismo paratextual para mostrar que en esa trilogía se quintaesencia toda la poética del escritor leonés; desentrañar las constantes de dicha poética mediante una metodología ecléctica cuyos fundamentos pretenden adaptarse al tipo de textualidad elegida: la transtextualidad de Genette como base teórica, la psicocrítica de Mauron y las metáfora obsesivas, la semiótica poética de Riffaterre y la teoría de los hipogramas, la deconstrucción derridiana o el lenguaje ambiguo, la teoría titulógica de López-Casanova como verdadero punto de partida, la pragmática de Austin, las teorías semióticas de Fontanille, Selden, Kristeva, Bajtin, Barthes y Bloom. Tal empeño sintoniza con el plurifacetismo y el antidogmatismo colinianos e implica que, al ir más allá de Los silencios de fuego, Libro de la mansedumbre y Tiempo y abismo, su pensamiento abarca y sustenta al territorio de la novela, al del cuento, del ensayo, del diario, e incluso del aforismo. Por su cinetismo ilimitado, esta literatura -ya depurada de adornos estilísticos y ya de por sí posmoderna, nostálgica y rupturista- apunta a la perentoria tradición literaria, a lo filosófico, a lo ecológico, a lo pictórico, a lo sagrado, a la espacialidad cerrada y abierta y a la onomástica que realza a personajes identificables en la realidad histórico-literaria, al tiempo que siempre tiende a razonar la dualidad, la totalidad, la reversibilidad del tiempo, el mito del eterno retorno, la interdisciplinaridad artística, la síntesis entre el filosofar y el poetizar, como quiso, Miguel de Unamuno, María Zambrano, Miguel Torga u Octavio Paz. Tal ha sido la finalidad de esta tesis doctoral.
