EL CARDENAL LOUIS BILLOT (1846-1931), gran teólogo tomista, "honor de la Iglesia y de Francia" (Merry del Val), fue uno de los más íntimos colaboradores de San Pío X en su lucha contra el modernismo .Contrarrevolucionario nato, de la estirpe del Cardenal Pie, desmenuzó magníficamente la intrínseca incompatibilidad entre el cristianismo y la Revolución. El liberalismo católico "es un pie en la Verdad y un pie en el error, un pie en la Iglesia y un pie en el siglo, un pie conmigo y un pie con mis enemigos" PÍO IX.Hoy editamos en Selecciones Tradición Viva una de esas obras fundamentales que sin embargo han sido ocultadas al gran público. "El error del liberalismo" es por méritos propios una de las obras más conocidas del cardenal Louis Billot, y no por casualidad, pues constituye un magistral documento para conocer los engaños de la Revolución con mayúsculas. La Revolución, y el liberalismo como su hijo más aventajado, tiene un único objetivo: la emancipación de Dios, y ha utilizado históricamente en engaño de la falsa libertad como banderín de enganche, sin embargo, ya en este siglo XXI a pocos se les escapa que la libertad proclamada por los dogmáticos revolucionarios supone la esclavitud del género humano. El cardenal Louis Billot nació en Sierk, diócesis de Metz (Lorena, Francia) en 1846. Estudió en el seminario de Blois, entrando en el noviciado de la Compañía de Jesús en Angers en noviembre de 1869. Hizo sus primeros votos en Laval y fue ordenado sacerdote en Blois. Su fama determinó que en 1885 fuera llamado a Roma por León XIII para enseñar el dogma en la Universidad Gregoriana, convirtiéndose durante 26 años (1185-1911) en maestro de generaciones de estudiantes eclesiásticos, futuros obispos y cardenales, hasta su nombramiento como cardenal diácono el 27 de noviembre de 1911, dignidad a la que renuncio el 19 de setiembre de 1927 retirándose al noviciado de Galloro, cerca de Roma, donde murió el 18 de diciembre de 1931, a los 86 años.La obra que hoy presentamos es fiel reflejo de su estilo directo, claro, viril y sin rodeos, estilo en el que no esconde su sentida humildad religiosa, y su compromiso con el dogma verdadero, sin adulteraciones ni aderezos, lo que permitió a Merry del Val catalogarlo como "honor de la Iglesia y de Francia" (Merry del Val, 1913), o ser llamado por sus alumnos "el príncipe de los teólogos". El lector podrá comprobar como Louis Billot vio con claridad la impiedad intrínseca del liberalismo, y como su lucido análisis ha sido confirmado en el transcurso de los años, pues su profundo conocimiento de los principios doctrinales de la revolución, le permitieron anticipar las nefastas consecuencias sociales a las que nos lleva el individualismo, la negación de la autoridad, y sobre todo la negación de Dios, dogmas revolucionarios encarnados a la perfección por el liberticida liberalismo. Como resumen sirvan las palabras pronunciadas por Billot en su "Elogio del Cardenal Pie": "El mal está en los principios de la Revolución, de hoy en más consagrados por la legislación, que continúan reinando sobre el espíritu público, estableciéndose en la opinión, penetrando cada vez más en las masas".La Asociación Editorial Tradicionalista, con la reedición de la obra de Billot, proporciona a sus lectores un instrumento eficaz para combatir la Revolución que parece haber ocupado todos los espacios públicos, e incluso las conciencias de muchos católicos, que han olvidado que es inútil cualquier regeneración social si no tiene su fundamento en Cristo. In 1886 there appeared in Spain a little work under the title El Liberalismo es Pecado, "Liberalism Is a Sin," by Don Felix Sarda y Salvany, a priest of Barcelona and editor of a journal called La Revista Popular. The book excited considerable commotion. It was vigorously assailed by the Liberals. A Spanish Bishop of a Liberal turn instigated an answer to Dr. Sarda's work by way of another Spanish priest. Both books were sent to Rome, praying the Sacred Congregation of the Index to put Dr. Sarda's work under the ban. The following letter, under date of January 10, 1887, from the Sacred Congregation itself, explains the result of its consideration of the two volumes: Most Excellent Sir: The Sacred Congregation of the Index has received the denunciation of the little work bearing the title El Liberalismo es Pecado by Don Felix Sarda y Salvany, a priest of your diocese; the denunciation was accompanied at the same time by another little work, entitled El Proceso del Integrismo, that is, "A refutation of the errors contained in the little work El Liberalismo es Pecado." The author of the second work is D. de Pazos, a canon of the diocese of Vich. Whereupon, the Sacred Congregation has carefully examined both works and decided as follows: In the first, not only is nothing found contrary to sound doctrine, but its author, D. Felix Sarda, merits great praise for his exposition and defense of the sound doctrine therein set forth with solidity, order and lucidity, and without personal offense to anyone. The same judgment, however, cannot be passed on the other work, that by D. de Pazos, for in matter it needs corrections. Moreover, his injurious manner of speaking cannot be approved, for he inveighs rather against the person of D. Sarda than against the latter's supposed errors. Therefore, the Sacred Congregation has commanded D. de Pazos, admonished by his own Bishop, to withdraw his book, as far as he can, from circulation, and in the future, if any discussion of the subject should arise, to abstain from all expressions personally injurious, according to the precept of true Christian charity; and this all the more since Our Holy Father, Leo XIII, whereas he urgently recommends castigation of error, neither desires nor approves expressions personally injurious, especially when directed against those who are eminent for their doctrine and their piety. In communicating to you this order of the Sacred Congregation of the Index, that you may be able to make it known to the illustrious priest of your diocese, D. Audiovisual translation has attracted the attention of many researchers in the years since it became recognised as an academic discipline with an established theory of translation. For its part, cinema is one of today’s most powerful and influential media, and the vast number of US films translated for Spanish audiences merits particular academic attention. This book presents an analysis of the insults from seven films directed by the North American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino – Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Four Rooms, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill (vols. I and II), Death Proof, and Inglourious Basterds – and how these insults have been translated from English into Spanish. One of the main reasons for building a corpus of this nature was to document the way Tarantino’s work is dubbed, and, using concrete examples, to describe the reality of translation and provide linguistic material with which to study dubbing, the most widespread translation modality in Spain. In an analysis of this nature, Tarantino’s films offer an interesting opportunity from a social perspective because of the exceptional number of insults they contain: 1526 insults have been recorded, classified and analysed in the preparation for this book. The magnitude of this figure is evidence of Tarantino’s constant use of swearwords, regardless of what his audiences might think, and whether or not they might sometimes prefer not to hear such a steady stream of foul language. Furthermore, his popularity has been achieved precisely because he refuses to allow distribution companies to alter his dialogues in any way, or modify the violence of his scenes, making Tarantino’s films of particular interest to the reader.

Éste es el primer libro que escribió María Zambrano, y en el que - desde la coyuntura crítica de 1930 en que apareció - se plantean ya cuatro cuestiones decisivas para el desarrollo de su pensamiento: De una parte, la constatación de la crisis de la cultura occidental y las conexiones que con ella ofrece la crisis política del liberalismo, a la que Zambrano da cauce mediante un "Nuevo liberalismo" socializante. En segundo lugar, la aparición de un método interrogador que busca el envés de las ideas, y que ya aquí ofrece gérmenes muy originales de lo que será el mayor logro de esta autora: la indagación de la tragedia que recorre y sobrepasa a la historia mediante una "razón poética". En tercer lugar, marca el inicio de lo que será ya una constante de la escritura zambraniana: el imbricado diálogo entre una crítica cultural y política de Occidente, y planteamientos más puramente especulativos y poéticos. En cuarto lugar, todo ello suscita ya aquí tanto la asunción de los maestros primeros de Zambrano - Unamuno, Blas Zambrano, Machado y Ortega - y las herencias intelectuales por ellos transmitidas - Nietzsche, Simmel, Bergson, Spranger o Spengler -, como las vías por las que se adentrará en propuestas enteramente originales, y en la cuestión política, especialmente disímiles tanto de Unamuno como de Ortega. El estudio preliminar de Jesús Moreno Sanz pone de relieve éstos y otros aspectos contextualizadores, entre los que destaca la conexión que establece entre Tragedia e Historia, la patentización del compromiso político de Zambrano, así como la relevancia - hasta ahora prácticamente inexplorada, u ocultada -que éste tuvo en "aquél tiempo feliz de 1930".
