Este trabajo de investigación se ha dividido en tres capítulos centrales dirigidos a estudiar la relación entre la seguridad alimentaria con la paz y seguridad internacionales en el plano universal.En el primer capítulo se elabora el enfoque de relación entre la seguridad alimentaria, el hambre y la paz y seguridad internacionales. En concreto en este capítulo se hace mención a: - las nuevas dimensiones de la paz y seguridad internacionales, entre las que cabe incluir a la seguridad alimentaria; -la falta de alimentos como causa y efecto de los conflictos; - la seguridad alimentaria como dimensión integrante de la seguridad humana y su relación con la paz y seguridad internacionales.En el segundo capítulo se realiza un estudio de los factores que potencian la falta de alimentos, no de todos ellos sino de aquellos que a la par se configuran como riesgos y/o amenazas a la paz y seguridad internacionales.En el tercer capítulo se aportan y/o cuestionan algunos posibles instrumentos que pueden proteger la seguridad alimentaria como factor sostenible de paz. Todo ello con el objetivo de no perder de vista el enfoque relacional entre la seguridad alimentaria y la paz y seguridad internacionales.
