El llibre es divideix en tres parts. A la primera part (Les intuïcions), l'autor tracta les hipòtesis més rellevants sobre la realitat il·lusòria del món perceptible. Els grans pensadors han previst l’existència d’un nivell de consciència que transcendeix la matèria. Aquesta idea la trobem al Mite de la cova de Plató, a la "Teoria immaterialista" de Berkeley, a "Psicologia de la forma" (Gestaltpsychologie). La font més autoritzada rau en els treballs sobre l’inconscient col·lectiu i sobre la teoria de la sincronicitat de Carl Jung. A la segona part (Confirmacions) l’autor descriu d’una manera elemental però detallada el camí de la física quàntica, des de l’experiment de Thomas Young de la barrera amb dues escletxes fins als fenòmens de superposició d’estats i correlació quàntica. Mitjançant aquestes claus privilegiades és possible entendre l’entrellat quàntic. A la tercera part (Perspectives), l'autor descriu les teories desenvolupades per David Bohm sobre el "potencial quàntic" sobre "l'univers implicat i explicat" i sobre la visió hologràfica del cosmos. Tot s’explica amb absoluta simplicitat, sense l’ús de fórmules matemàtiques i amb l’ajut de moltes il·lustracions. La humanitat, des dels seus orígens, ha volgut investigar l’origen i la composició de les coses, descobrir el seu funcionament i el seu propòsit íntim. El mètode universalment utilitzat consisteix en descompondre objectes en parts cada vegada més petites i analitzar-los amb totes les tècniques possibles, des de la investigació visual fins a les reaccions químiques. Això encara passa avui. Per exemple, si un científic vol descobrir l’estructura química i física d’un cub de granit, el dividirà en trossos cada cop més petits fins que es divideixi en àtoms individuals. No obstant això, si el propi científic vol investigar les partícules individuals que formen l'àtom, rep una sorpresa increïble. El cub de granit es comporta com ho faria un cub de gel. El científic veu la matèria que es torna líquida, s’evapora, desapareix entre els dits. La matèria sòlida es converteix en energia que vibra. Les partícules individuals es transformen en ones fluctuants sense més corporalitat. A nivell subatòmic, la matèria ja no és matèria sòlida, es converteix en alguna cosa diferent. Les partícules elementals ens enganyen. Semblen taques sòlides si algú les observa, però es comporten com ones vibrants quan no s’observen. Els àtoms pràcticament només contenen buit. A la superfície, creiem que podem tocar, pesar, manipular i mesurar la matèria. Però, en la seva composició més íntima, la matèria es converteix en una onada de buit, energia, informació, ona o vibració. El que ens sembla un material sòlid, en la seva essència més íntima, ja no és un material sòlid. En aquest punt, és clar que ja no podem parlar d’una sola realitat. Depenent dels nivells d'observació, des de l'extremament petit fins a l'infinitament gran, hi ha moltes realitats, totes diferents però totes absolutament certes. O, potser, hi ha molts aspectes d’una realitat superior, encara desconeguda. Totes les filosofies i religions sempre han fet la hipòtesi d'una "zona de l'esperit" que transcendeixi la matèria; ningú, però, mai ha estat capaç de proporcionar proves de la seva existència. Avui la física quàntica obre una enorme finestra a horitzons que, fins al segle passat, no podíem imaginar. Les confirmacions provenen dels experiments realitzats amb èxit, especialment els relacionats amb el fenomen de l’entrellat quàntic. Avui sabem que hi ha un nivell de realitat que ja no està sotmès a les restriccions de la física newtoniana. La física quàntica demostra l'existència d'un nivell en què l'energia i la informació prenen la matèria. Aquest és l’anomenat nivell “no local”. Podríem definir-lo a nivell psíquic o espiritual. En aquest nivell, una Intel·ligència universal interactua amb la humanitat. Els camins de comunicació amb l'univers intel·ligent passen per l'inconscient col·lectiu teoritzat per Carl Jung.

Conservatively, at least 100 million people are affected by house dust mite allergy worldwide, manifesting itself as asthma, rhinitis or atopic dermatitis. Despite the growing recognition of this major public health problem, and commitment of considerable research resources, there is still no simple, effective, generally-applicable strategy for dust mite control. The reasons for this are complex, but a contributing factor remains some important knowledge gaps and misconceptions regarding aspects of biology and ecology of dust mites. The purpose of this book is to provide a comprehensive reference work for all readers with an involvement or interest in house dust mite research and management, incorporating for the first time in a single volume the topics of systematics and identification, physiology, ecology, allergen biochemistry and molecular biology, epidemiology, mite control and allergen avoidance. Lexicon of Plant Pests and Diseases is a companion book to "Elsevier's Lexicon of Parasites and Diseases in Livestock" (1964). It is based on identical principles and is developed along the same lines, viz. one part as wide as possible in scope, systematically covering all living forms which are noxious, destructive or otherwise unfavorable to economic crops, trees, and plant products; and a second part made up of indexes to the six languages (Latin, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German). The indexes facilitate retrieval of any desired term in the basic table. The table of contents explains fully the scope of the lexicon. Entries in the lexicon are arranged alphabetically within each section, according to the Latin name of the living form. In the Appendices English is the key language.
