Interesante libro que nos hace reflexionar sobre nuestro patrimonio documental. Por todos es bien sabido el rico patrimonio con que cuentan los mexicanos, incluido el documental. Sin embargo, el conocimiento puntual de los acervos documentales y su insercin dentro del escenario patrimonial y de las polticas culturales por parte del Estado todava no es claro. Los autores sostienen que los diferentes actores investigadores, artistas, acadmicos, organizaciones no gubernamentales y polticos coinciden en que es necesario contar con un marco jurdico apropiado para proteger y preservar el legado cultural de los mexicanos. El problema es que los diputados y senadores piensan que es necesario cambiar el marco legal vigente, mientras que para los trabajadores de la cultura esos cambios carecen del sustento correcto si no pueden instrumentarse en realidades institucionales que favorezcan el acceso social a los bienes culturales. Este libro es una aportacin valiosa en el debate hacia un consenso acerca de las posibles modificaciones a la ley para mejorar las condiciones de conservacin y acceso al patrimonio documental de Mxico. / This interesting book looks into the future of our documentary heritage. It is well known that Mexicans have a rich cultural heritage, yet the exact knowledge of documentary collections, and their role within the heritage as a whole and the State cultural policies is not yet clear.
