El turismo argentino es un fenómeno que se destaca por su creciente desarrollo económico y social. Por la diversidad y transversalidad que presenta es difícil delimitarlo y, laboralmente es muy heterogéneo por el abanico de actividades que ofrece. Por ello, este estudio se enfoca desde una visión sociológica, en los trabajadores y las trabajadoras del sector de servicios turístico que realizan sus labores en las agencias de viajes de Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires entre los años 2003 y 2010 con el objetivo de explorar el tipo de trabajo y la organización del servicio. En primer lugar, desde una visión más cuantitativa no da cuenta de la calidad del puesto de trabajo. En segundo lugar, es preciso relacionar el crecimiento del sector turístico y con el empleo. Es decir, por la importancia que adquiere el sector como generador de empleo en Argentina, al presentar un crecimiento del 61,38% entre el 2002 y el 2008.
