El vizconde de Bragelonne (Le vicomte de Bragelonne) es la tercera parte de las Aventuras de los tres mosqueteros, una auténtica obra maestra publicada por Alejandro Dumas en 1847, que tiene continuidad en la novela El hombre de la máscara de hierro, también publicada por Verbum. La novela comienza en 1660, diez años desde los sucesos de Veinte años después. En su residencia de Blois, el vizconde de Bragelonne y joven mosquetero, Raúl, se reencuentra con Luisa de La Vallière a quien ama, pese a que el conde de La Fère, como Athos y padre del joven, no está de acuerdo con dicha relación. Al igual que en las dos partes anteriores de la trilogía, Dumas utiliza personajes y acontecimientos reales para construir la trama de su novela (la restauración de Carlos II, el fallecimiento de Mazarino y el ascenso de Luis XIV como monarca absoluto, la rivalidad entre los ministros Colbert y Fouquet, la caída de este último, los amores de Luis XIV con su cuñada y con Luisa de la Vallière), si bien tomándose muchas libertades, en particular con la cronología (la novela concentra en pocos meses sucesos que en la realidad estuvieron separados por años), haciendo intervenir en los hechos reales a sus personajes ficticios o adornando los hechos. El tiempo ha pasado, los fieles amigos se han dispersado, pero, hay cosas que parecen no cambiar pese al paso de los años: la corte de Carlos II no es tan distinta de la de Luis XIV: las aventuras pasionales, los secretos de alcoba, los celos, las envidias, las tramas más pérfidas corretean por los pasillos de palacio a la velocidad del viento. Aun así, los mosqueteros ponen a prueba su valor, su ingenio y su desparpajo en otro tipo de aventuras, y ceden el paso en los escarceos galantes a la generación que representa Raúl. Tampoco el ardor, la pasión y el profundo sentido de la amistad se han visto alterados lo más mínimo por el transcurso de los años.
