Lectures On Electromagnetism written by Ashok Das and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Science categories.

These lecture notes on electromagnetism have evolved from graduate and undergraduate EM theory courses given by the author at the University of Rochester, with the basics presented with clarity and his characteristic attention to detail. The thirteen chapters cover, in logical sequence, topics ranging from electrostatics, magnetostatics and Maxwell''s equations to plasmas and radiation. Boundary value problems are treated extensively, as are wave guides, electromagnetic interactions and fields. This second edition comprises many of the topics expanded with more details on the derivation of various equations, particularly in the second half of the book that focuses on rather advanced topics. This set of lecture notes, written in a simple and lucid style and in a manner that is complementary to other texts on electromagnetism, will be a valuable addition to the physics bookshelf.

This edition aims to expand on the first edition and take the reader through to the wave equation on coaxial cable and free-space by using Maxwell’s equations. The new chapters include time varying signals and fundamentals of Maxwell's equations. This book will introduce and discuss electromagnetic fields in an accessible manner. The author explains electroconductive fields and develops ideas relating to signal propagation and develops Maxwell’s equations and applies them to propagation in a planar optical waveguide. The first of the new chapters introduces the idea of a travelling wave by considering the variation of voltage along a coaxial line. This concept will be used in the second new chapter which solves Maxwell’s equations in free-space and then applies them to a planar optical waveguide in the third new chapter. As this is an area that most students find difficult, it links back to the earlier chapters to aid understanding. This book is intended for first- and second-year electrical and electronic undergraduates and can also be used for undergraduates in mechanical engineering, computing and physics. The book includes examples and homework problems. Introduces and examines electrostatic fields in an accessible manner Explains electroconductive fields Develops ideas relating to signal propagation Examines Maxwell’s equations and relates them to propagation in a planar optical waveguide Martin Sibley recently retired after 33 years of teaching at the University of Huddersfield. He has a PhD from Huddersfield Polytechnic in Preamplifier Design for Optical Receivers. He started his career in academia in 1986 having spent 3 years as a postgraduate student and then 2 years as a British Telecom-funded research fellow. His research work had a strong bias to the practical implementation of research, and he taught electromagnetism and communications at all levels since 1986. Dr. Sibley finished his academic career as a Reader in Communications, School of Computing and Engineering, University of Huddersfield. He has authored five books and published over 80 research papers.

Electromagnetism And Life written by Robert O. Becker and has been published by Suny Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1982 with Science categories.

The environment is now thoroughly polluted by man-made sources of electromagnetic radiation with frequencies and magnitudes never before present. Man's activities have probably changed the earth's electromagnetic background to a greater degree than they have changed any other natural physical attribute of the earth. The evidence now indicates that the present abnormal electromagnetic environment constitutes a significant health risk. There are also positive aspects of the relationship between electromagnetism and life. Clinical uses of electromagnetic energy are increasing and promise to expand into important areas in the near future. This book synthesizes the various aspects of the role of electricity in biology.

Introduction To Electromagnetic Theory written by George E. Owen and has been published by Courier Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-01-23 with Science categories.

A direct, stimulating approach to electromagnetic theory, this text employs matrices and matrix methods for the simple development of broad theorems. The author uses vector representation throughout the book, with numerous applications of Poisson’s equation and the Laplace equation (the latter occurring in both electronics and magnetic media). Contents include the electrostatics of point charges, distributions of charge, conductors and dielectrics, currents and circuits, and the Lorentz force and the magnetic field. Additional topics comprise the magnetic field of steady currents, induced electric fields, magnetic media, the Maxwell equations, radiation, and time-varying current circuits. Geared toward advanced undergraduate and first-year graduate students, this text features a large selection of problems. It also contains useful appendixes on vector analysis, matrices, elliptic functions, partial differential equations, Fourier series, and conformal transformations. 228 illustrations by the author. Appendixes. Problems. Index.

Advanced Electromagnetism Foundations Theory And Applications written by Terence William Barrett and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-11-16 with Science categories.

Advanced Electromagnetism: Foundations, Theory and Applications treats what is conventionally called electromagnetism or Maxwell's theory within the context of gauge theory or Yang-Mills theory. A major theme of this book is that fields are not stand-alone entities but are defined by their boundary conditions. The book has practical relevance to efficient antenna design, the understanding of forces and stresses in high energy pulses, ring laser gyros, high speed computer logic elements, efficient transfer of power, parametric conversion, and many other devices and systems. Conventional electromagnetism is shown to be an underdeveloped, rather than a completely developed, field of endeavor, with major challenges in development still to be met.

This book is aimed at a large audience: scientists, engineers, professors and students wise enough to keep a critical stance whenever confronted with the chilling dogmas of contemporary physics. Readers will find a tantalizing amount of material calculated to nurture their thoughts and arouse their suspicion, to some degree at least, on the so-called validity of today's most celebrated physical theories.

Classical Electromagnetism In A Nutshell written by Anupam Garg and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-04-08 with Science categories.

A comprehensive, modern introduction to electromagnetism This graduate-level physics textbook provides a comprehensive treatment of the basic principles and phenomena of classical electromagnetism. While many electromagnetism texts use the subject to teach mathematical methods of physics, here the emphasis is on the physical ideas themselves. Anupam Garg distinguishes between electromagnetism in vacuum and that in material media, stressing that the core physical questions are different for each. In vacuum, the focus is on the fundamental content of electromagnetic laws, symmetries, conservation laws, and the implications for phenomena such as radiation and light. In material media, the focus is on understanding the response of the media to imposed fields, the attendant constitutive relations, and the phenomena encountered in different types of media such as dielectrics, ferromagnets, and conductors. The text includes applications to many topical subjects, such as magnetic levitation, plasmas, laser beams, and synchrotrons. Classical Electromagnetism in a Nutshell is ideal for a yearlong graduate course and features more than 300 problems, with solutions to many of the advanced ones. Key formulas are given in both SI and Gaussian units; the book includes a discussion of how to convert between them, making it accessible to adherents of both systems. Offers a complete treatment of classical electromagnetism Emphasizes physical ideas Separates the treatment of electromagnetism in vacuum and material media Presents key formulas in both SI and Gaussian units Covers applications to other areas of physics Includes more than 300 problems
