In this second edition of Lama Sabachthani, the author emphasized the perils intrinsic in faulty translation or transliteration of the Original language of the Holy Bible; phenomenon that inevitably leads to erroneous interpretation precipitating colossal implications. He showed this monumental hazard by analyzing what is claimed to be the Words of Jesus Christ on the Cross. What did He say; “lama Sabachthani” meaning “Why have You Sacrificed Me” or “Lama Azavthani” interpreted as “Why have You forsaken Me?Did anyone hear exactly what He said? The author also cast a casual spotlight on the so-called Temptation of Jesus Christ”, and posed the following questions; (1), Was there really a “Temptation? And (2), Is the said “Temptation not, a Parable? The full floodlight is on the catastrophic consequences of inaccurate translations that birth grave misinterpretations and decontextualization of intended objectives of the Messiah; as in “Why have You forsaken Me”. He argues robustly, almost violently that God, did not forsake Christ, nor does He abandon anyone, at all.

I have witnessed a few lives departing this world and have witnessed one life's final breath in my arms. I have heard the cry of death but I have never heard a cry such as the most agonizing cry of Jesus Christ. The cry which shook the entire universe upon his death: Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani? It is the death cry that caused God's hand to move the very core of nature itself. A death cry which can still be heard around this universe as if it was the day of. Jesus Christ was accused of blasphemy, unjustly convicted and sentenced to death by crucifixion . He that knew no sin was made sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in him. It was the most horrifying cry this world have ever come to know, even to this very day in time. Jesus Christ took on the sins of not only those that believe but those that believe not. Isaiah the prophet asked; Who hath believed our report? Jesus poured his soul out unto death. God's divine ultimate will is that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Pilate asked Jesus Christ, What is truth? Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me. My friend there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved but by the name of Jesus. John said, He that believeth on the Son hath life; he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, and the wrath of God abideth on him. This book will take you on a journey within the spirit of your mind that you will never forget. The mose agonizing cry - Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani?

The Resurrection Of The Roman Catholic Church written by Griff Ruby and has been published by iUniverse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with Religion categories.

For nearly twenty centuries, the Roman Catholic Church withstood all the currents of change and history and maintained a closely guarded orthodoxy which has always served as the basis and center of all Christianity. Yet, it is as if all of that has been just arbitrarily swept away in the few years since Vatican II. Given what the Church has always taught about itself being indefectible, how could this have happened? Did that Council have something to do with that terrible loss of faith? Can the real Catholicism be found today, and if so, where? The shocking answer to this, once seen and truly understood, is as every bit as glorious as the original resurrection of Christ Himself, a tremendous source of faith and inspiration. It is a broad-based, longstanding miracle passing right before our eyes, have we but the Grace to see it for what it is.

Whether our notions of ‘god’ are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for A More Christlike God: a More Beautiful Gospel. If Christ is “the image of the invisible God, the radiance of God’s glory and exact representation of God’s likeness,” what if we conceived of God as completely Christlike—the perfect Incarnation of self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love? What if God has always been and forever will be ‘cruciform’ (cross-shaped) in his character and actions? A More Christlike God suggests that such a God would be very good news indeed—a God who Jesus “unwrathed” from dead religion, a Love that is always toward us, and a Grace that pours into this suffering world through willing, human partners.

A magnificent new novel from one of America’s finest writers—a powerfully affecting story spanning the twentieth century of a widow and her daughter and the nuns who serve their Irish-American community in Brooklyn. On a dim winter afternoon, a young Irish immigrant opens a gas tap in his Brooklyn tenement. He is determined to prove—to the subway bosses who have recently fired him, to his pregnant wife—that “the hours of his life . . . belonged to himself alone.” In the aftermath of the fire that follows, Sister St. Saviour, an aging nun, a Little Nursing Sister of the Sick Poor, appears, unbidden, to direct the way forward for his widow and his unborn child. In Catholic Brooklyn in the early part of the twentieth century, decorum, superstition, and shame collude to erase the man’s brief existence, and yet his suicide, though never spoken of, reverberates through many lives—testing the limits and the demands of love and sacrifice, of forgiveness and forgetfulness, even through multiple generations. Rendered with remarkable delicacy, heart, and intelligence, Alice McDermott’s The Ninth Hour is a crowning achievement of one of the finest American writers at work today.

Targum Onkelos (or Unkelus) is the official eastern (Babylonian) targum (Aramaic translation) to the Torah. However, its early origins may have been western, in Israel. Its authorship is attributed to Onkelos, a famous convert to Judaism in Tannaic times (c. 35-120 CE). According to Jewish tradition, the content of Targum Onkelos was originally conveyed by God to Moses at Mount Sinai. However, it was later forgotten by the masses, and rerecorded by Onkelos. Some identify this translation as the work of Aquila of Sinope in an Aramaic translation (Zvi Hirsch Chajes), or believe that the name "Onkelos" originally referred to Aquila but was applied in error to the Aramaic instead of the Greek translation. The translator is unique in that he avoids any type of personification. Samuel D. Luzzatto suggests that the translation was originally meant for the "simple people." This view was strongly rebutted by Nathan Marcus Adler in his introduction to Netinah La-Ger. In Talmudic times, and to this day in Yemenite Jewish communities, Targum Onkelos was recited by heart as a verse-by-verse translation alternately with the Hebrew verses of the Torah in the synagogue. The Talmud states that "a person should complete his portions of scripture along with the community, reading the scripture twice and the targum once (Shnayim mikra ve-echad targum)." This passage is taken by many to refer to Targum Onkelos.

The Author corrects the miss-interpretation of the verses of the Holy Quran, spread by the detractors of Islam. Longlisted for the PEN Translation Prize From one of Argentina’s greatest contemporary storytellers, this collection gathers twenty-five of her most remarkable and incandescent short stories in English for the first time The Scent of Buenos Aires offers the first book-length English translation of Uhart’s work, drawing together her best vignettes of quotidian life: moments at the zoo, the hair salon, or a cacophonous homeowners association meeting. She writes in unconventional, understated syntax, constructing a delightfully specific perspective on life in South America. These stories are marked by sharp humor and wit: discreet and subtle—yet filled with eccentric and insightful characters. Uhart’s narrators pose endearing questions about their lives and environments—one asks “Bees—do you know how industrious they are?” while another inquires, “Are we perhaps going to hell in a hand basket?” “Uhart’s stories are concise and filled with both dry and conversational wit and flashes of poignant insight . . . slice-of-life writer . . . ” —Thrillist
