Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte, Note: 2,3, Universität Potsdam (Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftliche Fakultät), Veranstaltung: Die Politik und das Politische, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Mit dem Vorwort des Bandes „Rejour le politique“ im Jahr 1981 von Philippe Lacoune-Labarth und Jean-Luc Nancy, die den Band auch initiierten, eröffneten sie fiktiv die Diskussion um die Differenz zwischen dem Politischen „le politique“ und der Politik „la politique“. Die politische Differenz weist dabei in zwei Richtungen. Einerseits greift der Text auf, wie sich andere Philosophen in der Debatte positionierten und andererseits gibt er die Leitdifferenz ab, „die es erlaubt Neubestimmungen des politischen Denkens zusammenzufassen und zu differenzieren.“*1* Eingeführt wurde die Unterscheidung des Politischen von der Politik um „die politische Herkunft der abendländischen Philosophie [...] zu reflektieren.“ Thomas Bedorf skizziert in seinem Text fünf Arten die politische Differenz anzulegen, wobei er historische Bezüge weitestgehend ignoriert. Für Thomas Bedorf geht es dabei um eine systematische Darstellung dessen, was die Differenz zu leisten in der Lage ist. Die Unterscheidung in die fünf Typen hat für Bedorf den Zweck der Orientation in einem Diskussionsfeld, „das im Begriff ist, als jene Erneuerung politischen Denkens wahrgenommen zu werden, als deren Betreiber ihre Protagonisten auftreten.“*3* In dieser Arbeit sollen die fünf Typen der Differenzierung dargestellt werden, um so einen Leitfaden zur Unterscheidung zwischen dem Politischen und der Politik zu geben. Zunächst werden jedoch die zentralen Begriffe „das Politische“ und „die Politik“ definiert. Im Anschluss daran werden die fünf Unterscheidungen der politischen Differenz erklärt, um die verschiedenen Ansätze der unterschiedlichen Autoren wie Hannah Arendt, Carl Schmitt, Chantal Mouffe, Rancière etc. einordnen zu können. Im vierten Punkt werden die vier Problemfelder erläutert, auf die Thomes Bedorf gestoßen ist, sowie seine noch offenen Fragen genannt. Im fünften und letzten Punkt folgt eine kurze Zusammenfassung sowie das letztliche Fazit.

The manner in which people have been talking and writing about ‘development’ and the rules according to which they have done so have evolved over time. Development Discourse and Global History uses the archaeological and genealogical methods of Michel Foucault to trace the origins of development discourse back to late colonialism and notes the significant discontinuities that led to the establishment of a new discourse and its accompanying industry. This book goes on to describe the contestations, appropriations and transformations of the concept. It shows how some of the trends in development discourse since the crisis of the 1980s – the emphasis on participation and ownership, sustainable development and free markets – are incompatible with the original rules and thus lead to serious contradictions. The Eurocentric, authoritarian and depoliticizing elements in development discourse are uncovered, whilst still recognizing its progressive appropriations. The author concludes by analysing the old and new features of development discourse which can be found in the debate on Sustainable Development Goals and discussing the contribution of discourse analysis to development studies. This book is aimed at researchers and students in development studies, global history and discourse analysis as well as an interdisciplinary audience from international relations, political science, sociology, geography, anthropology, language and literary studies.
