Unter Berücksichtigung der thematischen Bandbreite der Presseberichterstattung kann Greiner zeigen, dass sich »Europa" sukzessive zu einem Erfahrungsbegriff entwickelte, der den Zeitgenossen bereits deutlich präsenter war als gemeinhin angenommen.
