1984, ( Nineteen Eighty-Four) is a must-read classic 20th century novel. Parallels have been drawn between the novel's subject matter and real life instances of totalitarianism, communism, mass surveillance, and violations of freedom of expression among other themes. As a book that people love to read, 1984 consistly ranks high in the best novel categories.
