How wonderful it is to sip a cup of good coffee in your favourite café, to find that peaceful moment when you can be with yourself, regardless of the conversations that might be going on around you; finding a space that is just for yourself. In solitary moments like these I will sometimes just gaze out through the café window at the world outside; other times I will write down my thoughts. These are usually a reflection of what is going on for me, what is inside of me that needs to be either remembered and recorded, or just what I am feeling that day. Other times, inexplicably, I am caught in another space and the words that flow onto the pages of my small notebook are not any that have entered my thoughts; my thoughts have been put to one side as other voices have added their own. In those moments I have to read what I have written when I put down the pen; read and absorb words that show me another view of life, another view of what can happen in our imaginings. But is this just imagination, or are we all capable of tuning into to something that is outside of our physical vision but nonetheless has a link to us, and above all wants to communicate? These communications can sometimes come at times of great need, and when they do I find I return to them again and again and discover what is said encourages me even further to believe that there is love written into every sentence and every page. "Enlightenment in a café" is a book that can be opened at random, either daily or as you feel guided. In Part One I offer what I have been given in the hope that these words* may bring enlightenment to you as they did to me. My own jottings and reflections can be found in Part Two. I trust that whoever reads this little book may find something that reflects what you have felt or experienced for yourselves. Perhaps your own guidance is saying much the same, but with different words.*Language can have many layers of meaning, which is why my spirit friends impressed on me the need to not change or edit any of their messages. It was important for their words to be left open to personal interpretation by whoever read them. It was not for me to meddle. I could, of course, meddle all I liked with my own jottings as they were all my own words.
