Um planeta azul, assim era Blue. Mas não como a Terra, cheia de água. Ele era azul devido ao seu solo feito de um minério próprio, rico em proteínas e, quando condensado, denso e sólido. O bluepowder, como era chamado o minério, era de fácil manuseio e ótimo para a construção de naves espaciais. A extração do minério foi inevitável. Entretanto, ninguém imaginava que o contato físico dos primeiros mineradores com o bluepowder pudesse acarretar qualquer mutação na estrutura de seus corpos. O resultado criou perseguição e abandono aos primeiros mineradores, enquanto os seguintes passaram a usar trajes especiais para tal. A mineração não podia parar. E assim nasceu os Azuis, povo nativo descendente dos primeiros mineradores. Os Azuis eram fortes, altos (mais de dois metros de altura). Tinham cabelos, pêlos, olhos, sangue, cartilagens (unhas), entre outros órgãos internos, azuis. A história de Blue se passa em 3569, quando a Terra comemora 500 anos de exploração do planeta. Até então os Azuis são ignorados pelos terráqueos, como se não existissem. Todavia a extração do minério começa a debilitar ao planeta e a toda a vida existente nele, inclusive os Azuis. Surge a Nocolor, uma doença em toda a fauna e flora do planeta, que se resume na falta de bluepowder nos seus organismos. Essa doença é fatal. Se não for parada imediatamente a extração do minério, toda a vida existente no planeta deixará de existir. Buscando parar a extração, os Azuis enviam o inteligente e ágil tenente Light como seu Representante. A primeira norma a ser obedecida é um contato pacífico. Todavia, a presença do tenente não é bem vista pelo comandante do cargueiro-estelar Félix e nem aceito o pedido de cessar a mineração pelo povo terráqueo. A tentativa de assassinato ao enviado fora o segundo passo. E o resultado é guerra, entre Blue e a Terra, entre terráqueos e azuis. Com isso, terráqueos mineradores terão que enfrentar a sabotagem de Light no cargueiro-estelar e o ataque dos Azuis em Blue e no espaço.

Color has recently become the focus of scholarly discussion in many fields, but the categories of art, craft, science and technology, unreflectively defined according to modern disciplines, have not been helpful in understanding color in the early modern period. ‘Color worlds’, consisting of practices, concepts and objects, form the central category of analysis in this volume. The essays examine a rich variety of ‘color worlds’, and their constituent engagements with materials, productions and the ordering and conceptualization of color. Many color worlds appear to have intersected and cross-fertilized at the beginning of the seventeenth century; the essays focus especially on the creation of color languages and boundary objects to communicate across color worlds, or indeed when and why this failed to happen. Zayas's prose through a gynocentric lens. María de Zayas y Sotomayor published two volumes of novellas, Novelas amorosas y ejemplares [1637] and Desengaños amorosos [1647], which enjoyed immense popularity in her day. She has recently been reinstated as a major figure of the Spanish Golden Age. This study examines Zayas's prose through a gynocentric lens. Drawing on an extensive array of primary and secondary sources, and referring to the ideas of Irigaray, Kristeva, Cixous, Raymond and Genette, O'Brien reflects on the interactions of Zayas's women in such relationships as friendship, sisterhood, and motherhood, analyzing these interactions through the collections as a whole, and connecting the novellas with the frame stories, an aspect of Zayas's writing which has often been overlooked by critics. EAVAN O'BRIEN is a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at Trinity College Dublin.
