Equal Credit Opportunity (Regulation B) (US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Regulation) (CFPB) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Equal Credit Opportunity (Regulation B) (US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Regulation) (CFPB) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 Title X of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act) transferred rulemaking authority for a number of consumer financial protection laws from seven Federal agencies to the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau) as of July 21, 2011. The Bureau is in the process of republishing the regulations implementing those laws with technical and conforming changes to reflect the transfer of authority and certain other changes made by the Dodd-Frank Act. In light of the transfer of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System's (Board's) rulemaking authority for the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) to the Bureau, the Bureau is publishing for public comment an interim final rule establishing a new Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity). This interim final rule does not impose any new substantive obligations on persons subject to the existing Regulation B, previously published by the Board. Financial crises are traditionally analyzed as purely economic phenomena. The political economy of financial booms and busts remains both under-emphasized and limited to isolated episodes. This paper examines the political economy of financial policy during ten of the most infamous financial booms and busts since the 18th century, and presents consistent evidence of pro-cyclical regulatory policies by governments. Financial booms, and risk-taking during these episodes, were often amplified by political regulatory stimuli, credit subsidies, and an increasing light-touch approach to financial supervision. The regulatory backlash that ensues from financial crises can only be understood in the context of the deep political ramifications of these crises. Post-crisis regulations do not always survive the following boom. The interplay between politics and financial policy over these cycles deserves further attention. History suggests that politics can be the undoing of macro-prudential regulations.

The Sociology Of Debt written by Featherstone, Mark and has been published by Policy Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-16 with Social Science categories.

Over the course of the last ten years the issue of debt has become a serious problem that threatens to destroy the global socio-economic system and ruin the everyday lives of millions of people. This collection brings together a range of perspectives of key thinkers on debt to provide a sociological analysis focused upon the social, political, economic, and cultural meanings of indebtedness. The contributors to the book consider both the lived experience of debt and the more abstract processes of financialisation taking place globally. Showing how debt functions on the level of both macro- and microeconomics, the book also provides a more holistic perspective, with accounts that span sociological, cultural, and economic forms of analysis.
