Este libro forma parte del proceso de modernización que se ha venido haciendo en el ámbito internacional de la ergonomía. De un lado se han acogido los conceptos y criterios de la Asociación internacional de Ergonomía más sencilla, más coherente y de mayor aplicabilidad. Por esa razón se establecen los nombres de los capítulos Ergonomía física, Ergonomía Cognitiva y Ergonomía Organizacional, que forman parte de dicha clasificación. De otro lado, tratando de garantizar una relación con el mundo del diseño, la arquitectura, y aquellos elementos visuales que forman parte de los sistemas de control y de los procesos de percepción, se ha incluido un capítulo sobre Ergonomía Visual. En cada uno de los capítulos se hace una presentación teórica de cada uno de los temas implicados, se insinúan y proyectan sus aplicaciones, se hace un resumen de los conceptos incorporados, se propone un conjunto de aspectos evaluativos que permitan responder por el conocimiento adquirido y las capacidades de utilización de los mismos, y al final se entrega un conjunto de referencias bibliográficas que permiten ubicar las raíces del conocimiento tratado y las posibilidades de ampliación de los mismos.
