Durante más de treinta años coleccioné errores lingüísticos cometidos por los periodistas; no sé cuántos conseguí; no los he contado nunca ni pienso hacerlo, pero son muchísimos. Hay errores ortográficos, tipográficos, morfológicos, sintácticos, léxicos, extranjerismos, vulgarismos, anacolutos, redundancias... Toda una miscelánea de los desvíos de la norma que, bien sea por descuido o por ignorancia, cometían los profesionales de los medios de comunicación, aunque muchos están incrustados en la lengua general y los periodistas se limitan a reflejarlos. Es una colección nutrida y vistosa, pero le falta algo importante: me limité a buscar y juntar los errores para poder mostrarlos, pero nunca me entretuve en contar los aciertos, para ver cuántas palabras y cuántas páginas de periódico, cuántas horas de noticiarios de radio y televisión tuve que repasar para encontrar una pieza más que pudiera sumarse a mi colección de fallos. Adolece esa colección, además, de un mal incurable: hay piezas que poco a poco van perdiendo el lugar que ocuparon hasta que llegan a ser expulsadas para siempre; nunca más podrán formar parte de la lista de errores pacientemente recopilados por el coleccionista, y unas cuantas decenas de ellos —de los que salieron por la puerta de atrás, de noche y sin hacer ruido—, son los que les muestro en este libro.
