Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Wissenschaftstheorie, Anthropologie, Note: 2,7, Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Institut für Pädagogik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Da die Hirnforscher, allen voran Gerhard Roth und Wolf Singer, sich, schon seit den 1990er Jahren, nicht mehr nur zu ihre Disziplin betreffenden Themen äußern, mehren sich die Stimmen der Kritiker, die versuchen die Grenzziehung zwischen den Natur- und Geisteswissenschaften wiederherzustellen, um höchst gefährliche Übergriffe der Neuro-Wissenschaften auf Philosophie und Pädagogik abzuwehren. Die Hirnforscher schließen aus ihren physiologischen und biologischen Erkenntnissen auf psychische Phänomene und versuchen, eine Zukunft zu prognostizieren, in der alle Probleme und psychischen Effekte mit den Methoden der Hirndiagnostik und letztendlich auch -manipulation lösbar erscheinen. In dieser Zukunft hätte das klassische Menschenbild, den Menschen als ein Wesen mit freiem Willen und freiem Geist zu begreifen, keinen Platz mehr, denn das Gehirn bestimmt das Denken und nicht mehr der Mensch. Dieser Ansatz hätte, hätten die Hirnforscher Recht, weit reichende Konsequenzen für das gesamte gesellschaftliche Zusammenleben und, wie die Hirnforscher fordern, auch für die Rechtsprechung. Das Ich-Empfinden, wie wir es kennen, müsste komplett neu gedacht werden, freier Wille und damit Verantwortung für das eigene Tun wären nicht mehr existent. Unsere Selbstempfindung sagt uns allerdings etwas Anderes. Niemand möchte sich ernsthaft damit abfinden, dass anstatt des in der Zeit der Aufklärung überwundenen göttlichen Determinismus nun ein biologischer auf den Plan tritt. Was früher schicksalhafte Fügung hieß soll nun an schlechtem Genmaterial liegen? Wo die Naturwissenschaft im Bereich der Hirnforschung rasante Fortschritte macht, treibt deren Interpretation die Geisteswissenschaft in eine Kehrtwende rückwärts in eine Zeit, als Menschen noch an ein unabänderliches Schicksal glaubten. Umwelt-, Sexual- oder Spielerziehung) stattfinden kann. Ihr Ziel ist die Personwerdung. Als Erziehung zur Mündigkeit, also zur und durch Vernunft, Freiheit und Sprache, will und soll sie rationale Überlegungs- und Entschlussfähigkeiten aufgrund emotionaler Bedingungen vermitteln, wobei sich - so die These - der Zu-Erziehende in jedem Erziehungsbereich einen freien und vernünftigen Willen aneignen kann. Grenzen dieser in Form von Sprachspielen stattfindenden Willenserziehung bestehen darin, dass die tatsächliche Aneignung im Sinne sozialisierender Willensbildung von außen nicht bewirkt, dagegen von Aporien der Vernunft und gesellschaftlichen Zwängen ständig behindert werden kann.

Hobbes's political thought provokes a perennial fascination.
