Le XXe siècle, plus que tout autre à travers l'histoire, a mobilisé ses efforts et sa volonté d'action pour la réalisation des utopies. L'histoire de l'humanité a prouvé que toute position utopique est destinée à se réaliser et à transformer, en se concrétisant, le monde et l'ètre humain. Parmi les multiples utopies explorées au XXe siècle, les pays de l'Europe de l'Est offrent des témoignages sur les créations de l'utopie communiste. Notre recherche est une lecture psychosociologique clinique sur la vie quotidienne des Roumains; ayant comme cadre le contrat social proposé par le régime communiste, cette lecture met en discussion le rapport entre les individus sous trois aspects: en tant que sujets psychiques, en tant que sujets du groupe familial et en tant que sujets sociaux. La recherche se réalise sur les vécus subjectifs explorés à l'aide des interviews semi dirigées. Le matériel verbal produit a été enregistré, transcrit et ensuite soumis à l'analyse et à l'interprétation. Pour une meilleure compréhension des effets du totalitarisme sur le psychisme des Roumains, nous avons sélectionné l'histoire de vie de 9 interlocuteurs.

Fin 1989, le peuple roumain est entré dans une période de transition à plusieurs dimensions. Au cours du vingtième siècle, il a traversé une période de son histoire très sinueuse, avec le passage par la monarchie, par les guerres, par les gouvernements provisoires, un redécoupage de ses frontières, par une longue période communiste suivie d'une forme de révolution brève dans une période de mutations plutôt brutales de l'ensemble des pays du bloc soviétique, même si la Roumanie y a occupé une place à part. Cette recherche est realisee sur quatre generations à l'aide des intervients semi-dirigées individuels et de group. C'est une lecture clinique sur la vie quotidienne des Roumains qui met en discussion le rapport des individus en tant que sujets psychiques, sujets du groupe familial et sujets sociaux à travers un contrat social proposé par le régime communiste. La disponibilité qu'un sujet peut créer-trouver en lui pour s'engager dans les changements de la période post-communiste et dans les nouveaux groupements sociaux externes - et corollairement dans son avenir potentiel propre - dépend pour une part des traces psychiques irreprésentables qu'il partage avec d'autres des événements collectifs qui ont marqué le destin de ses prédécesseurs et de lui-même et de l'investissement fantasmatique propre de ces traces. A travers les histoires de vie de nos participants, nous avons mis en évidence le contrat social établi par le régime avec le citoyen ordinaire, suivant les caractéristiques du lien tyrannique, les mécanismes pervers de mise en place et de maintien de ce contrat et les effets du totalitarisme sur le psychisme des Roumains.

Annotation This volume is one in a series initiated by the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies on the inter-relationship between globalisation and urban transformation. It identifies and describes the inter- and intra-urban transformations of Central and Eastern European cities and considers their pre-1945 historic legacies, the socialist period, and their contemporary transition towards market oriented and democratic systems.
