Which sort of seducer could you be? Siren? Rake? Cold Coquette? Star? Comedian? Charismatic? Or Saint? This book will show you which. Charm, persuasion, the ability to create illusions: these are some of the many dazzling gifts of the Seducer, the compelling figure who is able to manipulate, mislead and give pleasure all at once. When raised to the level of art, seduction, an indirect and subtle form of power, has toppled empires, won elections and enslaved great minds. In this beautiful, sensually designed book, Greene unearths the two sides of seduction: the characters and the process. Discover who you, or your pursuer, most resembles. Learn, too, the pitfalls of the anti-Seducer. Immerse yourself in the twenty-four manoeuvres and strategies of the seductive process, the ritual by which a seducer gains mastery over their target. Understand how to 'Choose the Right Victim', 'Appear to Be an Object of Desire' and 'Confuse Desire and Reality'. In addition, Greene provides instruction on how to identify victims by type. Each fascinating character and each cunning tactic demonstrates a fundamental truth about who we are, and the targets we've become - or hope to win over. The Art of Seduction is an indispensable primer on the essence of one of history's greatest weapons and the ultimate power trip. From the internationally bestselling author of The 48 Laws of Power, Mastery, and The 33 Strategies Of War.

Disablement In The Community written by Donald L. Patrick and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1989 with Political Science categories.

Due to the assumption that disabled people enjoy a higher quality of life in their own homes, the balance of health and social care has shifted from institutions to care in the community. However, formulating community care policy requires a complete picture of chronic illness and its effects on the entire community. Consequently, the aim of this book is to show how knowledge of the epidemiology of disablement can help planners, service providers, patients, and voluntary organizations choose strategies for community care. A large multi-disciplinary team of social and medical scientists at St. Thomas's Hospital Medical School conducted the Lambeth studies of disablement over the last decade. Their cumulative experience in the development of social and health policy is reported using original data from a series of different studies designed to diagnose problems and to generate a social response on the part of all members of society.

Science And Social Inequality written by Sandra Harding and has been published by University of Illinois Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-11 with Social Science categories.

In Science and Social Inequality, Sandra Harding makes the provocative argument that the philosophy and practices of today's Western science, contrary to its Enlightenment mission, work to insure that more science will only worsen existing gaps between the best and worst off around the world. She defends this claim by exposing the ways that hierarchical social formations in modern Western sciences encode antidemocratic principles and practices, particularly in terms of their services to militarism, the impoverishment and alienation of labor, Western expansion, and environmental destruction. The essays in this collection--drawing on feminist, multicultural, and postcolonial studies--propose ways to reconceptualize the sciences in the global social order. At issue here are not only social justice and environmental issues but also the accuracy and comprehensiveness of our understandings of natural and social worlds. The inadvertent complicity of the sciences with antidemocratic projects obscures natural and social realities and thus blocks the growth of scientific knowledge. Scientists, policy makers, social justice movements and the consumers of scientific products (that is, the rest of us) can work together and separately to improve this situation.
