By using special processing procedures, it is possible to extend the range of the lesssensitive component of most commercial fllm packets up to at least 10,000 r. Limitations in precision of readings from changes in rate dependence, energy dependence, and changes in the shape of the characteristic curve in this range are discussed. (auth).
