A caged bird is trapped and confined, and has no contact with untamed nature. But nothing, and no one, controls or chains the spirit of a caged bird. The caged bird sings because its spirit is free; it is not totally powerless. Many human beings, especially Christians, have lost the "joy of the LORD" because they allow the things around them--which they cannot control--to get into their spirits. The book is based on Apostle Paul's injunction in Philippians 4:4-8. Paul does not say "be happy always" but rejoice in the LORD always. The book teaches us how to REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS, and also encourages us to maintain the joy of the LORD--which is our strength. In the eight chapters of the book, Dr. Michael Ojewale presents a thesis that we can rejoice ALWAYS if we have (1) the right focus, (2) the right behavior, (3) the right attitude, and (4) if we meditate on the right subjects.
