. In mid-twentieth century America the one true unquestioned power women had over men was the power to entice and seduce the male. It was only in the realms of science fiction and fantasy where women wielded power. Only on alien worlds were women in charge of everything and, sure enough, they garbed themselves in revealing attire that showcased the curves and skin that were the undoubted source of their might.

LARS of MARS appeared in 1951 courtesy of the ziff-Davis company which created a vast panoply of rather short-lived comics. Lars was a policeman for the Martian Supreme Council who had determined that Earth now had nuclear weapons and Lars should investigate this. The Supreme Council was especially concerned that the ancient Venus/Mars war might be reignited. Lars shows up just in time to mistakenly 'rescue' June, from robots who are attacking her. But the robots aren't. They aren't robots and it 's actually a TV show that is by amazing coincidence about a superhero man from Mars. June thinks that Lars is an actor with a great gimmick, so she hires him to continue his man from Mars act, on the television show she's producing though she also thinks he's just a tad bit touched in the head. This, Lars realizes, is the perfect secret Earth identity for him to assume and he embraces it as he fights evil. As a native Martian, Lars has a few 'super' powers: He has really big and efficient lungs which allow him to fly through space while holding his breath. He has a rudimentary telepathic ability which can be augmented through the use of Martian technology and Lars can hypnotize. On top of this Lars is equipped with some awesome Martian technology. Lars can fly around with aero nautical precision using his jetpack and he has a ray gun that also doubles as a freeze ray.

Chaos. Fury. Destruction. The Great Change is upon us . . . Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption. Orso will find that when the world is turned upside down, no one is lower than a monarch. Why Startups Fail written by Tom Eisenmann and has been published by Currency this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-03-30 with Business & Economics categories.

If you want your startup to succeed, you need to understand why startups fail. “Whether you’re a first-time founder or looking to bring innovation into a corporate environment, Why Startups Fail is essential reading.”—Eric Ries, founder and CEO, LTSE, and New York Times bestselling author of The Lean Startup and The Startup Way Why do startups fail? That question caught Harvard Business School professor Tom Eisenmann by surprise when he realized he couldn’t answer it. So he launched a multiyear research project to find out. In Why Startups Fail, Eisenmann reveals his findings: six distinct patterns that account for the vast majority of startup failures. • Bad Bedfellows. Startup success is thought to rest largely on the founder’s talents and instincts. But the wrong team, investors, or partners can sink a venture just as quickly. • False Starts. In following the oft-cited advice to “fail fast” and to “launch before you’re ready,” founders risk wasting time and capital on the wrong solutions. • False Promises. Success with early adopters can be misleading and give founders unwarranted confidence to expand. • Speed Traps. Despite the pressure to “get big fast,” hypergrowth can spell disaster for even the most promising ventures. • Help Wanted. Rapidly scaling startups need lots of capital and talent, but they can make mistakes that leave them suddenly in short supply of both. • Cascading Miracles. Silicon Valley exhorts entrepreneurs to dream big. But the bigger the vision, the more things that can go wrong. Drawing on fascinating stories of ventures that failed to fulfill their early promise—from a home-furnishings retailer to a concierge dog-walking service, from a dating app to the inventor of a sophisticated social robot, from a fashion brand to a startup deploying a vast network of charging stations for electric vehicles—Eisenmann offers frameworks for detecting when a venture is vulnerable to these patterns, along with a wealth of strategies and tactics for avoiding them. A must-read for founders at any stage of their entrepreneurial journey, Why Startups Fail is not merely a guide to preventing failure but also a roadmap charting the path to startup success.

THE MILLION COPY INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER 'If power is your ultimate goal, this is the book you need' The Times Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distils three thousand years of the history of power into forty-eight well-explicated laws. As attention-grabbing in its design as it is in its content, this bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun-tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other great thinkers. Some laws require prudence ("Law 1: Never Outshine the Master"), some stealth ("Law 3: Conceal Your Intentions"), and some the total absence of mercy ("Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally"), but like it or not, all have applications in real-life situations. Illustrated through the tactics of Queen Elizabeth I, Henry Kissenger, P T Barnum, and other famous figures who have wielded - or been victimised by - power, these laws will fascinate any reader interested in gaining, observing or defending against ultimate control.
