Overcoming The Evil Within written by Fr. Wade Menezes and has been published by Sophia Institute Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-15 with Religion categories.

We all recognize that we are sinners. We constantly strive to do God's will, and when we fall short, we go to the confessional to experience God's healing mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Yet for all too many of us, when our sins are washed away, the shame of sin may linger on our hearts and plague us even as we resolve anew to follow Christ. This shame is one of Satan's most insidious means of separating us from God's love and forgiveness. With gentleness and wisdom, Fr. Wade Menezes of the Fathers of Mercy shows you how to overcome your shame of sin and surrender to God's mercy. Far from ignoring the reality of sin, Fr. Menezes illustrates the consequences of evil and vice, while reminding you that however great your sin may be, God's goodness is greater. At every moment, He is calling you to Himself. He seeks your love and desires you, with all your sins and all your shame.

Thomas Jefferson and Edward Coles were men of similar backgrounds, yet they diverged on the central moral wrong of this country's history: the former remained a self-justified slave-holder, while the latter emancipated his slaves. What led these men of the same era to choose such different paths? They represent one of numerous examples in this work wherein examining the ways in which people who perform wrong and even evil actions attempt to justify those actions both to others and to themselves illuminates the mistakes that we ourselves make in moral reasoning. How do we justify moral wrongdoing to ourselves? Do we even notice when we are doing so? The Evil Within demonstrates that the study of moral philosophy can help us to identify and correct for such mistakes. In applying the tools of moral philosophy to case studies of Nazi death camp commandants, American slave-holders, and a psychopathic serial killer, Diane Jeske shows how we can become wiser moral deliberators. A series of case studies serve as extended real-life thought experiments of moral deliberation gone awry, and show us how four impediments to effective moral deliberation -- cultural norms and pressures, the complexity of the consequences of our actions, emotions, and self-deception -- can be identified and overcome by the study and application of moral philosophy. Jeske unsparingly examines the uncomfortable parellels between the moral deliberations of those who are transparently evil (e.g. psychopaths, Nazis), and our own moral justifications. The Evil Within ultimately argues for incorporating moral philosophy into moral education, so that its tools can become common currency in moral deliberation, discussion, and debate.

It was in 1991 when two soldiers, one an officer, Lt Jeremy Carver, and the other a female Sergeant, Heather Calvert, fell into the hands of an IRA ‘nutting squad . . .’ . . . Jeremy and Heathers’ worst fears were realised when they turned north off the road between Belleek and Petigoe in Co Fermanagh, and headed towards a multitude of derelict buildings . . . It was there that the heat spots appeared on the infra-red systems in the Puma helicopter. The eight Marine Commandos abseiled down and entered the building . . . to their horror . . . Two days later, David Carver, a Brigadier in the SAS, silently, in the morgue, whispered to his son . . . Jeremy, I swear that the evil bastards that have done this to you, will very, very slowly learn what it is like to die. To die a death far worse than what you and your faithful Sergeant have suffered, this will be my epitaph, my eternal promise to you . . . One man’s determination to avenge the torture to death, of his very own, and he would metre out his own justice . . . and he did . . . ! From the very beginning to the astonishing and totally unexpected ending, the action is relentless, the sheer realism, the ferocity; and the events that happened, all of which leaves such an impregnable and indelible footprint on the mind of the reader . . .

The Power To Curse Or Bless Others written by William Derrick Moore and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-02-26 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

"The Power to Curse or Bless Others" is the second book in a continuing series on Christian conduct by William Derrick Moore. This book provides insight into the very nature of evil, demonic beings, and our own contributions to what we have come to know as evil. It also takes a look at arealm of evil that many Christians fail to see or acknowledge. Once an understanding is reached on all the sources that can influence what we percceive as demonic activity or evil, we have an opportunity to change our role in the process of being a curse or a blessing to others. An important variable in understanding the problem of evil is the rejection of one of God's greatest commandments, love. In rejecting this commandment, it changes the potential and capacity to extrodinarily bless someone into the potential and capacity to extrodinarily curse someone. A central theme in this book is God's gift of free will and volition to his creations both human and angelic. God has given us all the power to bless or curse others. Misusing this gift and power from God constitutes evil. "The Power to Curse or Bless Others" takes a deeper look into the major causes of evil and it also provides insight and understanding of God's true role in allowing evil to continue in the world.

Evil Within: The Apocalypse tells the story of the biblical end to this universe. Our end is not what most of us have learned by the masses. I take the reader on a journey discovering it is not God who actually pulls the destruct lever but it is his self-destruct code based on an 'if we do this, then the system's response will be that' just like our computers are coded today. I offer a timeline with the United States leading the globe in her destruction based on biblical texts. Our poor choices set off a series of super volcanoes. In providing this data I looked to science, historical and current events, biblical prophecy, and a healthy dose of the Holy Spirit to come to these prophetic interpretations. To complete this series keep an eye out for my other two books, Evil Within: Demons and Devils which covers some of my experiences with the demonic and how to overcome them. Again it is nothing like what I have seen in the Christian or witchcraft worlds. The other book, Evil Within: Apologetics is a more comprehensive approach to biblical apologetics where most authors focus on one aspect per book I cover many aspects in one book to provide the reader a more complete look at biblical truth.
