Opis wydawniczy: Problemem badawczym podjętym w niniejszej rozprawie są przekształcenia systemu politycznego Litwy z szczególnym uwzględnieniem okresów 1918–1940 (od sejmokracji do ugruntowania rządów Antanasa Smetony i systemu jednopartyjnego) oraz 1990–2020 (od rozpoczęcia procesu transformacji do wyborów parlamentarnych w 2020 r.). Głównym celem pracy jest analiza ewolucji systemu politycznego, jego uwarunkowań i poszczególnych czynników wpływających na przemiany na Litwie w latach 1918–1940 oraz po roku 1990. Zamierzenie badawcze wymagało podejścia analitycznego, opartego na paradygmacie neoinstytucjonalnym, co umożliwiło zbadanie i wyjaśnienie logiki zmiany systemowej w I i II RL. Nie można dokonać analizy transformacji politycznej w latach 1990–2020 (w tym opisać przyczyn) bez syntezy ustroju I RL, która funkcjonowała przez dwadzieścia jeden lat. Fragment wprowadzenia Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługuje nie tylko umiejętność analitycznego podejścia Doktora do zagadnienia ewolucji systemu politycznego Litwy (i poszczególnych jego elementów), ale także umiejętność porównania poszczególnych elementów w poszczególnych okresach rozwoju państwa litewskiego. Ważnym w tym kontekście jest rozdział V, który dotyczy ostatecznego kształtu systemu politycznego Litwy, na który niewątpliwie duży wpływ miało także członkostwo państwa w Unii Europejskiej. Europeizacja systemu politycznego to ważny efekt nie tylko samej transformacji rozpoczętej w latach 90., ale także dążeń Litwy do wejścia w struktury Unii Europejskiej, co po okresie negocjacji i przygotowań – dokonało się w 2004 r. Autor w ciekawy sposób dokonuje właśnie analizy wpływu zewnętrznych uwarunkowań na współczesny system polityczny Litwy, będąc świadomym także istnienia wielopoziomowo ujęcia systemu politycznego właśnie w kontekście członkostwa państwa w UE. This book examines the professional activity of public television journalists in Poland operating in the still unstable system of a post-communist state, to demonstrate how the media can work in the public interest to strengthen democracy. Drawing on in-depth interviews with Telewizja Polska (TVP) journalists, the author shows how public television in Poland has become highly politicised and commercialised, and must defend against constant attacks on its autonomy. She draws parallels with the media systems in Hungary and the Czech Republic to analyse potential legal solutions and to highlight how Poland’s journalists are subject to influences from the political class as well as from the market – a situation brought about by flawed legislation, the absence of a political culture, an inefficient internal regulating process, and lack of suitable training for the journalists themselves. Adding an important perspective on recently developed media systems, this book will be an important resource for scholars and students of journalism, media studies, media industries, politics and media history.
