Scienza E Arte written by Vincenzo Schettino and has been published by Firenze University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with Art categories.

During the creative act, the artist and the scientist both proceed through the decoding and recomposition of the realities they observe. Based on this method correspondence, art and science offer tools to study the inner or outer reality, looking at objects and situations and looking for correlations and interpretations, in an ideal relationship between the artist's study and the scientist's laboratory . Starting from this unitary vision of the cognitive processes, the interactions between chemistry and decorative arts, between chemistry and architecture and between chemistry and literature (poetry, theater, narrative) are examined, highlighting sometimes unexpected and surprising analogies and overlappings.

The Disappearing Spoon written by Sam Kean and has been published by Little, Brown this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-07-12 with Science categories.

From New York Times bestselling author Sam Kean comes incredible stories of science, history, finance, mythology, the arts, medicine, and more, as told by the Periodic Table. Why did Gandhi hate iodine (I, 53)? How did radium (Ra, 88) nearly ruin Marie Curie's reputation? And why is gallium (Ga, 31) the go-to element for laboratory pranksters? The Periodic Table is a crowning scientific achievement, but it's also a treasure trove of adventure, betrayal, and obsession. These fascinating tales follow every element on the table as they play out their parts in human history, and in the lives of the (frequently) mad scientists who discovered them. The Disappearing Spoon masterfully fuses science with the classic lore of invention, investigation, and discovery -- from the Big Bang through the end of time. Though solid at room temperature, gallium is a moldable metal that melts at 84 degrees Fahrenheit. A classic science prank is to mold gallium spoons, serve them with tea, and watch guests recoil as their utensils disappear.

Napoleon S Buttons written by Penny Le Couteur and has been published by Penguin this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-05-24 with Science categories.

Napoleon's Buttons is the fascinating account of seventeen groups of molecules that have greatly influenced the course of history. These molecules provided the impetus for early exploration, and made possible the voyages of discovery that ensued. The molecules resulted in grand feats of engineering and spurred advances in medicine and law; they determined what we now eat, drink, and wear. A change as small as the position of an atom can lead to enormous alterations in the properties of a substance-which, in turn, can result in great historical shifts. With lively prose and an eye for colorful and unusual details, Le Couteur and Burreson offer a novel way to understand the shaping of civilization and the workings of our contemporary world.

The Periodic Kingdom written by Peter Atkins and has been published by Hachette UK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-31 with Science categories.

A 'travel guide' to the periodic table, explaining the history, geography and the rules of behaviour in this imagined land. The Periodic Kingdom is a journey of imagination in which Peter Atkins treats the periodic table of elements - the 109 chemical elements in the world, from which everything is made - as a country, a periodic kingdom, each region of which corresponds to an element. Arranged much like a travel guide, the book introduces the reader to the general features of the table, the history of the elements, and the underlying arrangement of the table in terms of the structure and properties of atoms. Atkins sees elements as finely balanced living personalities, with quirks of character and certain, not always outward, dispositions, and the kingdom is thus a land of intellectual satisfaction and infinite delight.

Diary Of A Pilgrimage written by Jerome K. Jerome and has been published by Read Books Ltd this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-04-24 with Fiction categories.

This early work by Jerome K. Jerome was originally published in 1891 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'Diary of a Pilgrimage' is a novel set during a journey to Oberammergau, in Bavaria, to see the Passion play that is performed there every ten years. Jerome Klapka Jerome was born in Walsall, England in 1859. Both his parents died while he was in his early teens, and he was forced to quit school to support himself. In 1889, Jerome published his most successful and best-remembered work, 'Three Men in a Boat'. Featuring himself and two of his friends encountering humorous situations while floating down the Thames in a small boat, the book was an instant success, and has never been out of print. In fact, its popularity was such that the number of registered Thames boats went up fifty percent in the year following its publication.
