Pemberdayaan memegang kunci pokok dalam mengeliminasi kemiskinan perempuan atau feminisasi kemiskinan. Dalam hal ini, Pemerintah senantiasa berupaya menggalakkan berbagai program pemberdayaan perempuan untuk berpartisipasi, tidak hanya sebagai objek tetapi juga sebagai subjek dalam pembangunan. Buku ini berusaha untuk memahami dan mengkaji kemiskinan “berwajah” perempuan serta mengembangkan jiwa dan potensi perempuan melalui model pemberdayaan perempuan agar senantiasa berpikir kreatif serta mampu berperilaku dan berkarya yang inovatif dalam upaya memunculkan wirausaha perempuan yang produktif, khususnya di perdesaan. Secara umum buku ini dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga) kajian pokok bahasan utama, yaitu: Kemiskinan dan Feminisasi Kemiskinan, Gender dan Pemberdayaan Perempuan, serta Kajian Empiris Kerentanan Perempuan terhadap Kcmiskinan. Dalam buku ini secara rinci dibahas 8 (delapan) topik utama. BAB I berisi pemahaman tentang konsep dan penyebab feminisasi kemiskinan di Indonesia. BAB II berisi tentang konsep dan penyebab feminisasi kemiskinan di Indonesia. BAB III berisi tentang pemberdayaan masyarakat. BAB IV berisi tentang gender dan pembangunan masyarakat. BAB V membahas pemberdayaan perempuan. BAB VI membahas psikologi perempuan. BAB VII tentang model pemberdayaan perempuan terkait upaya pemberdayaan perempuan miskin. BAB VIII membahas kajian empiris tentang studi kasus kerentanan perempuan menghadapi terjadinya feminisasi kemiskinan dan pemberdayaan perempuan di pedesaan.
