A pesar de la separacion en partes, estas no difieren en estilo (la unica diferencia palpable son las fechas en que aparecieron los textos y que Artificios es ligeramente mas breve que El jardin). Por otra parte, no sin cierta ironia, Borges anota en el prologo de Artificios que los relatos que incluidos en esa parte son "de ejecucion menos torpe" (Borges,1995:119) que los de El Jardin. La division del libro en dos se debe a que la primera parte habia sido publicada...
