The novel that inspired Field of Dreams: “A lyrical, seductive, and altogether winning concoction.” —The New York Times Book Review One of Sports Illustrated’s 100 Greatest Sports Books “If you build it, he will come.” When Ray Kinsella hears these mysterious words spoken in the voice of an Iowa baseball announcer, he is inspired to carve a baseball diamond in his cornfield. It is a tribute to his hero, the legendary Shoeless Joe Jackson, whose reputation was forever tarnished by the scandalous 1919 World Series. What follows is a timeless story that is “not so much about baseball as it is about dreams, magic, life, and what is quintessentially American” (The Philadelphia Inquirer). “A triumph of hope.” —The Boston Globe “A moonlit novel about baseball, dreams, family, the land, and literature.” —Sports Illustrated

Building Your Field Of Dreams written by Mary Manin Morrissey and has been published by Bantam this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-10-14 with Religion categories.

Building Your Field of Dreams is both a compelling personal story and a practical and inspiring guide for anyone who has ever hoped for a better life. Mary Morrissey's own dreams were nearly shattered at age 16, when pregnancy forced her into a reluctant marriage that nevertheless became the crucible for remarkable lessons in faith. As she was tested by the near-death of one of her children, by life-threatening kidney disease, and by years of struggling to make ends meet, she clung to her determination to be a minister. Now, with powerful examples from many dream-builders she has known, she shows how anyone can identify their deepest desires, build a partnership with God, confront obstacles and failure, and overcome the mental blocks that keep us from our potential. It's a great message, compellingly delivered by a great teacher. From the Trade Paperback edition.

The Dream Fields Of Florida written by Ella Schmidt and has been published by Lexington Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-10-29 with Social Science categories.

Immigrant workers from indigenous communities who are working in low-wage jobs are often stigmatized for their origins, their status, and their poverty. For them, achieving the American Dream means overcoming the historic biases of contemporary economic, cultural, social, and political systems. The Dream Fields of Florida explores the limits of accessibility to the American Dream for Mexican-American farmworkers. Using ethnographic data from several immigrant communities in Florida, Ella Schmidt studies the intersecting and often contradicting issues of identity, citizenship, and belonging. She unravels the embedded structural inequalities of U.S. society and the ideological discourses that mask them and finds that only through playing by the rules can Mexican farmworkers be selectively granted second-class citizenship-if any at all. This book is a timely and increasingly necessary look at one of the most invisible populations in the United States, one that has been systematically ignored and continuously misrepresented. Contrary to their imposed labels as subservient 'illegal aliens,' Mexican farmworkers are the epitome of agency, embodying the American ideals that are at the basis of the (Mexican-) American Dream.

If life is just a dream, can you change your life plan with awareness? Can you change the past or the future? What if you knew the key to turn your Dreams into your living reality? Lost in a beautiful, lush garden, in a seductive and alluring dream, two young lovers meet and discover the miracle that allows them to bring their love story to the real world: to make their dreams, quite literally, their living reality. In this, the sequel to Dreams with Dreams, Aidan and Effie confront their promises, their hopes, and their waking dreams for the future and everything they think they know about themselves. Can they agree to change the dream with conscious awareness and write a new life plan or are they fated to play out a script they have no conscious say in, blindly playing out the roles of their lives with unawareness? Can Aidan and Effie learn to interact consciously with other aspects of their total personality focused in alternate and parallel realities? Can they remember promises once made and consciously agree to explore them in a new way, thus reshaping both their so-called past and future? Can they use this information consciously to refocus their lives, thus realizing the inner blueprint of all they can possibly be? Allan Sankirtan's lifelong interest in dream interpretation and the symbology underpinning language, pictographs, and sacred art inspires his fiction. He currently lives in Australia.
