Z perspektywy potocznego nastawienia wszystko jest proste – postrzegamy zjawiska przyrodnicze, codzienne sytuacje naszego życia, ogromną różnorodność rzeczy wokół nas oraz ich własności (barwy, kształty, zapachy etc.). Jednak dla filozoficznego myślenia dopiero tutaj wyłaniają się poważne zagadnienia i ma miejsce swoisty start ku fascynującej, intelektualnej przygodzie. Tajemnicze cechy percepcji > Jacek Jarocki Percepcja wydaje się aktywnością wręcz trywialną. Cóż tajemniczego może być w tym, że widzę czerwonego pomidora lub słyszę śpiew słowika? Pozornie nic. Jak zwykle jednak w sukurs przychodzi filozofia, która z oczywistych, zdawałoby się, zjawisk wydobywa problemy, którymi dziś intensywnie zajmuje się wielu uczonych. Jeśli jednak wierzyć wpływowej kognitywistycznej teorii percepcji – sięgającej korzeniami myśli Immanuela Kanta – postrzeganie nie jest pasywną akumulacją bodźców. To raczej forma kontrolowanej halucynacji, w której mózg wytwarza wirtualne sygnały zmysłowe, by uniknąć zaskoczenia przez pobudzenia dochodzące ze świata zewnętrznego. Koncepcja ta rozmywa granice między percepcją a wyobraźnią. Czas widzimy, słyszymy, czujemy – a może nawet wąchamy? > Michał Klincewicz Percepcja jest w podwójny sposób związana z czasem: dzieje się w czasie oraz reprezentuje rzeczy jako trwające w czasie. Te dwa parametry nie muszą być ze sobą zgodne: możemy doświadczać czegoś jako trwającego krócej lub dłużej, niż faktycznie było to postrzegane. Tego rodzaju obserwacja stanowi punkt wyjścia dla podejmowania interdyscyplinarnych projektów dotyczących percepcji czasu oraz do filozoficznych rozważań nad związkami między subiektywnym czasem a czasem jako obiektywnym składnikiem rzeczywistości. As Unger hypothesizes, many of these problems are unanswerable, including the problems of knowledge and scepticism, the problems of free will, and problems of causation and explanation. The book is the first formulation of a meta-philosophical scheme rooted in the embodied cognition paradigm. The latter views subjects capable of cognition and experience as living, embodied creatures coupled with their environments. On the other hand, the emergence of experimental philosophy has given rise to a new context in which philosophers have begun to search for a more thorough definition of philosophical competence. The time is ripe for these two trends to join their efforts. Therefore, the book discusses what it means for a human being thought of as a living subject to pursue philosophy. In this context, in contrast to the existing literature, philosophical competence must not be conflated with competence in philosophy. The former is a skill or attitude. The book refers to this peculiar attitude as the recognition of one’s epistemic position.
