Neu-PKW in Deutschland abgesetzt. Knapp 2,1 Mio. dieser Fahrzeuge waren deutsche Modelle. Somit hat die deutsche Automobilindustrie weiterhin mit 64,5% einen hohen Marktanteil im eigenen Land. Ausländische Modelle realisierten folglich einen Marktanteil von 35,5% und konnten so Ihren Anteil um 1,5% im Vergleich zum Vorjahr steigern. Dieser Trend ist nicht zuletzt in der Stärke der asiatischen Automobilindustrie begründet, die stark zulegen konnte. Vergleicht man diese Werte mit den Zahlen aus 2002, in denen die deutschen Marken einen Marktanteil von 66 % für sich verzeichnen konnten und den Werten aus 2001 in denen der Marktanteil sogar 71% betrug, so stellt man einen deutlichen Negativtrend fest. Ausländische Modelle sind in Deutschland also auf dem Vormarsch. Insbesondere die japanischen, amerikanischen und französischen Hersteller stellen die Konkurrenten auf dem deutschen Automarkt dar.

Diese Zahlen belegen die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung der Automobilindustrie und damit wird klar, dass unternehmerische Fehlentscheidungen in diesem Industriezweig weitreichende Folgen haben konnen. Vor allem die Moglichkeit, die Flop-Risiken in der Automobilindustrie sehr praxisnah untersuchen zu konnen, brachte mich zu der Wahl dieses Untersuchungsthemas.
