Un cas très rare comme les légendes urbaines, François DJE fut le premier contrôleur noir du transport public florentin, travaillant comme fonctionnaire au service de la ville. Quelle signification revêt cet événement historique et qu’est-ce qui a conduit l’auteur d’origine africaine à croiser son destin avec la grande civilisation juridique italienne ? C’est une histoire à vivre car elle se déroule dans de nombreuses parties et continents de la planète Terre. Il y a toujours eu une première fois pour chaque événement, mais celui de Florence mérite d’être lu ici et maintenant, car au-delà de la peau il y a des vies, des visages, des cœurs, des pensées, du sang, des rêves, des batailles, des victoires, des doutes, ombres et lumières, des étoiles. EXTRAIT J’avais 13 ans et j’avais une énorme envie d’étudier, d’apprendre, je voulais fréquenter la classe de 6e à la rentrée scolaire, mais je ne pouvais pas le faire à cause du manque d’argent. Mon père ne pouvait pas m’aider financièrement, ma mère non plus, et comme un malheur n’arrive jamais seul, il y avait une autre très mauvaise nouvelle qui m’attendait. En effet, ma mère nous annonça une grave décision : « Mes enfants », dit-elle, « je dois vous communiquer une chose qui ne va pas vous plaire. Depuis quelques années, le rapport entre votre père et moi n’est plus très bon. Cela s’est abîmé à cause de ma rivale, l’autre femme de votre père. Comme je suis fatiguée de me disputer continuellement et comme je ne veux plus de discussions ni de bagarre, j’ai donc décidé de me séparer de votre père. Ce n’est pas juste de continuer à souffrir. Dans quelques jours, je ne serai plus ici avec vous. Je m’en irai, je retournerai chez mes parents au village. Vous êtes désormais en âge de comprendre. Je porterai avec moi Claudia, la plus petite. » À PROPOS DE L'AUTEUR François DJE est citoyen italien, né en 1974, originaire de la Côte d’Ivoire. Technicien en publicité, il a une formation qui va de l’enseignement général et musical aux études de marketing-communication gestion d’entreprise. Il a été enfant de chœur à la Cathédrale Saint André de Yopougon en Côte d’Ivoivre, puis Candidat au conseil municipal de Florence pour les élections administratives du 25 mai 2014. Depuis 2009, il est le premier noir d’origine africaine, contrôleur des transports en commun. Il est le prix spécial « Firenze Libro Aperto », année 2017.

This book offers the edition, translation into French and analysis of all the chancery documents (in Arabic, Latin and Italian) concerning the relations established between Florence and the Mamluk sultanate between 1422 and 1510. Taking into consideration the achievements made in recent decades in the field of Mamluk diplomatics, this work corrects several errors and inaccuracies contained in previous editions as well as presents some unpublished documents. An introduction addresses the historical framework of diplomatic relations and examines the characteristics of the sources. A rich body of explanatory notes and a glossary analyze their content. The sources published in this volume constitute the historical testimony available for outlining the framework of the diplomatic exchanges maintained by the City of the Lily and Mamluk Cairo.
