Ogni disciplina, nella sua specificità, fornisce l’opportunità di sviluppare un sapere unitario e, in particolare, la storia offre stimoli e conoscenze efficaci per l’acquisizione delle competenze di cittadinanza. Il volume illustra il percorso di insegnamento della storia in prospettiva interculturale svolto in una classe terza di scuola primaria con l’intento di colmare il divario tra teoria e prassi e fornire alle alunne e agli alunni strumenti adeguati di analisi del presente e del passato. La padronanza delle conoscenze e la consapevolezza di come esse siano state prodotte, il saper usare gli operatori cognitivi, il saper argomentare i propri punti di vista nel rispetto di quelli altrui e nel riconoscimento della loro pluralità, la scoperta della propria identità individuale e sociale e lo sviluppo di identità culturali aperte hanno costituito gli obiettivi dell’intero percorso poiché fondamentali per l’acquisizione di una cultura storica in un’ottica interculturale.
