I've collected a selection of my poems and micro stories for anyone who has ever felt lost and alone in the world. For those who have been hurt and wronged by friends, lovers and even by their very own mind and heart. If you are like me, and have questioned the world we live in wondering were to go and what to do with your life. Fear not, for I have been there too, and steal feel that way. So come with me on this journey of life, and maybe we can find the answers together. Here is a sample of one of my poems. I hope you all find peace and happiness in this world and if I can help you on that Journey, then my purpose in life will be complete. What do you know of true loneliness21 Feb 2017The feeling of loneliness is like nothing I've ever felt before. Pain, hate, love, and all the other feeling one can feel, don't compare to the feeling of loneliness. And those who have never truly felt this, will never come to know, the raw and imperfect person, inside of themselves and us all.Its only in these moments of complete singularity of ones self. That you become open to the void of creation... To the real you. You may not like what you find, you may come to hate the very existence of your birth and being. But if you can push through the blackness that tries to consume your very soul, you just may find the person you were meant to be.That maybe, just maybe all the hardships and pain and especially the loneliness, was nothing more than a trial by fire. A cauldron of lost hopes, dreams and the illusion of what you thought was proper. In not only your thoughts but of other thoughts, of what was right, in what you were meant to be.That this journey of darkness and misery, was the only road you could have ever walked in this life, for it was your destiny to be alone. To be the... alone. And by claiming your right to this void of your own creation, just maybe, salvation of your very soul is within arms reach. Maybe, just maybe become pure... perfect.Becoming who you were meant to be. Own the darkness, claim the loneliness and make it bend to your will. Be not afraid to walk into the stygian blackness of your mind, for light and life await on the other side.

Food has played a major role in funerary and memorial practices since the dawn of the human race. In the ancient Roman world, for example, it was common practice to build channels from the tops of graves into the crypts themselves, and mourners would regularly pour offerings of food and drink into these conduits to nourish the dead while they waited for the afterlife. Funeral cookies wrapped with printed prayers and poems meant to comfort mourners became popular in Victorian England; while in China, Japan, and Korea, it is customary to offer food not only to the bereaved, but to the deceased, with ritual dishes prepared and served to the dead. Dying to Eat is the first interdisciplinary book to examine the role of food in death, bereavement, and the afterlife. The contributors explore the phenomenon across cultures and religions, investigating topics including tombstone rituals in Buddhism, Catholicism, and Shamanism; the role of death in the Moroccan approach to food; and the role of funeral casseroles and church cookbooks in the Southern United States. This innovative collection not only offers food for thought regarding the theories and methods behind these practices but also provides recipes that allow the reader to connect to the argument through material experience. Illuminating how cooking and corpses both transform and construct social rituals, Dying to Eat serves as a fascinating exploration of the foodways of death and bereavement.

Now available in omnibus format, the Queen of the Dead trilogy tells the gripping tale of a teenage girl who discovers her powers of necromancy after the death of her boyfriend. It began in the graveyard... Ever since her boyfriend Nathan had died in a tragic accident, Emma had been coming to the graveyard at night. During the day she went through the motions at her prep school, in class, with her friends, but that's all it was. For Emma, life had stopped with Nathan's death. But tonight was different. Tonight Emma and her dog were not alone in the cemetery. There were two others there--Eric, who had just started at her school, and an ancient woman who looked as though she were made of rags. And when they saw Emma there, the old woman reached out to her with a grip as chilling as death.... Emma was not quite like other girls. It was true that other girls had experienced grief. Other girls had also lost their fathers, or had their boyfriends die in senseless accidents. But though she hadn't known it till that night in the graveyard, unlike those other girls, she could see, touch, and speak with the dead. Follow this gripping saga as Emma must learn to navigate her powers and the responsibilities that accompany them.

Consoling Ghosts written by Jean M. Langford and has been published by U of Minnesota Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-01 with Social Science categories.

In conversation with emigrants from Laos and Cambodia, Jean M. Langford repeatedly met with spirits: the wandering souls of the seriously ill, dangerous ghosts of those who died by violence, restless ancestors displaced from their homes. For these emigrants, the dead not only appear in memories, safely ensconced in the past, but also erupt with a physical force into the daily life and dreams of the present. Inspired by these conversations, Consoling Ghosts is a sustained contemplation of relationships with the dying and the dead. At their heart, as Langford’s work reveals, emigrants’ stories are parables not of cultural difference but rather of life and death. Langford inquires how and why spirits become implicated in remembering and responding to violence, whether the bloody violence of war or the more structural violence of social marginalization and poverty. What is at stake, she asks, when spirits break out of their usual confinement as symbolic figures for history, heritage, or trauma to haunt the corridors of hospitals and funeral homes? Emigrants’ theories and stories of ghosts, Langford suggests, inherently question the metaphorical status of spirits, in the process challenging both contemporary bioethics of dying and dominant styles of mourning. Consoling Ghosts explores the possibilities opened up by a more literal existence of ghosts, from the confrontation of shades of past violence through bodily ritual to rites of mourning that unfold in acts of material care for the dead instead of memorialization. Ultimately the book invites us to consider alternate ways of facing death, conducting relationships with the dead and dying, and addressing the effects of violence that continue to reverberate in bodies and social worlds.

Beyond Horatio S Philosophy The Fantasy Of Peter S Beagle written by David Stevens and has been published by Wildside Press LLC this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-08-16 with Literary Criticism categories.

In Beyond Horatio’s Philosophy: The Fantasy of Peter S. Beagle, David Stevens examines the fantasy of American writer Peter S. Beagle. He finds a consistent view of the world and an almost overpowering sense of humor, leading him to conclude that Beagle believes that love is the best thing we have and the only reason for living. His work will be read and enjoyed for generations to come, and Stevens tells you why. Beagle indulges in what Stevens terms "metaphysical speculations”: a working-out of the possibilities of the world being different than it is. He invites the reader to examine these speculations with him, and when we do, to come away from the experience as better men and women, believing in the transforming power of love and laughing at ourselves in the process. No writer could ask for more, or succeed better. Beagle would have us believe, to paraphrase Shakespeare's Hamlet, that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophy. Complete with bibliography and index.
