Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 20: March 17, 1930 It is estimated that bales of 478 pounds net of cotton have been ginned in Egypt up to March 1 of this year, according to a cable received by the Foreign Service of the Bureau of Agricultural Econ omice, from.the International Institute of Agriculture at Rome. UP to February 1 of last year, 271 bales had been ginned. This season bales were of the sakellaridis variety as compared with bales at the same time last year. Other varieties totaled bales, the same as last year, and linters amounted to bales compared with bales Up to March 1 of last year. Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 20: April 7, 1930 Exports of oats from.the United S ates, Canada, Argentina and the Danubian countries from July 1 to the latest dates available amount to 24, bushels, a decrease of 44. 3 per cent from the shipments during the same oeriods of the preceding year. United States oats exports were negligible during the week ended March 29, while prices remained at about the same level. No. 3 white oats at Ch icago remained at 43 cents per bushe. Which was 4 cents below the price for the corresponding week last year. Set oats trade and price tables, pages 521 and 522. The price of oats in weste; Europe was reported as considerably firmer around the middle of March. Germany, however, still has large quantities of cats for export. The new mid-winter estimate was made to obtain some information on fluctuations in numbers between summer and winter. Future estimates will, of course, be of more significance than is the first grou) Oi mid-winter figures. It appears, however, that total cattle on January 11 were 8 per cent below the June estimate.
