Are ‘Natural Disasters’ natural? Are Disease Epidemics and Pandemics like MERS, SARS, and COVID-19, cyclical events that Human Beings just have to accept? Who’s the best Political Forecaster in Human History? Can we know what the future holds for us as nations and peoples? Read the answers to these and other poignant questions in FORETOLD: The COVID-19 EFFECT. No one would deny that a major part of the COVID-19 EFFECT has been to bring an eerie silence over the earth, throughout much of 2020! Empty streets, business offices, churches, schools, stadiums and parks — with billions of people ‘sheltering in place’ — have dramatically lowered the decibel level generated by Human Beings throughout the world. Another part of the COVID-19 EFFECT has been to greatly curb people’s activity levels, resulting in an unparalleled ‘resting state’ in cities, and countries everywhere. In retrospect, the year 2020 may be dubbed, ‘The year the earth stood still’! What most people are not aware of, is that this COVID-19 EFFECT was FORETOLD in advance over 2500 years ago — and is the first of 8 major events to come! It was all revealed by the most accurate Political Forecaster in the History of Mankind. Read FORETOLD and find out what’s coming after: THE COVID-19 EFFECT!

Jesus gave a list of signs we should look for, signs concerning His return. And pestilences is one of those signs. It's an archaic word meaning fatal diseases. One source says it's fatal epidemic diseases. Which certainly describes COVID-19. Unfortunately, when the Lord spoke of pestilences, He wasn't speaking of one pandemic, but multiple events. Which means the current crisis is merely a preview of things to come. The good news is there's an escape, an escape that's available to ever man, woman, boy, and girl. This book describes that escape in detail, and is an invaluable resource for the days ahead.

Political backstabbing, rank hypocrisy, and dastardly deception reign in this delightfully entertaining political satire, sure to lift one’s spirits far above the national stage. America is in trouble—at the mercy of a puzzling pathogen. That ordinarily wouldn’t lead to catastrophe, thanks to modern medicine, but there’s just one problem: the government supply of Dormigen, the silver bullet of pharmaceuticals, has been depleted just as demand begins to spike. Set in the near future, The Rationing centers around a White House struggling to quell the crisis—and control the narrative. Working together, just barely, are a savvy but preoccupied president; a Speaker more interested in jockeying for position—and a potential presidential bid—than attending to the minutiae of disease control; a patriotic majority leader unable to differentiate a virus from a bacterium; a strategist with brilliant analytical abilities but abominable people skills; and, improbably, our narrator, a low-level scientist with the National Institutes of Health who happens to be the world’s leading expert in lurking viruses. Little goes according to plan during the three weeks necessary to replenish the stocks of Dormigen. Some Americans will get the life-saving drug and others will not, and nations with their own supply soon offer aid—but for a price. China senses blood and a geopolitical victory, presenting a laundry list of demands that ranges from complete domination of the South China Sea to additional parking spaces at the UN, while India claims it can save the day for the U.S.

On the last day of 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) was briefed about a wave of “unknown caused pneumonia” detected in Wuhan City, China. The virus responsible for the epidemic was determined to be a novel coronavirus. On March 11, the coronavirus outbreak has been accepted as a pandemic by the WHO.The COVID-19 pandemic is the greatest global crisis of this century. Its depth and scale are enormous. Aside from the many deaths that have tragically ensued, the pandemic caused a large-scale economic and social shake. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, governments, economies, markets and individuals had to face a global crisis situation. The post-pandemic period can be an opportunity to think about the difference between "how we did" and "how we should do" and to focus on cooperation and also to react internationally to subsequent challenges. This review manuscript raises 9 predictive points of discussion for policymakers as the pandemic subsides, intending to generate debates around the greater post-COVID19 value creation for the public. The Covid-19 pandemic could cause a seismic shock that will permanently change the international systems and balance of power as we go through it.Reviewed works of experts scrutinized to find the mostly predicted topics. It was seen that 9 different topics came to the fore. Table.2 shows the headings in which the opinions of experts or institutions are concentrated in general. 14 of 27 experts' prediction focused on "Impact on Economy". This was followed by "End of Globalization Era" and "Emerging Nationalism" respectively 9 and 8 predictions. Other predictions were "Daily Life Changes", "Criticism on EU", "Prediction on Urban Life Change", "Leadership Problem", "Healthcare measures" and "Sino-American Relations". COVID-19 eroded our traditional systems, but it's also allowed us to develop new and innovative solutions out of necessity. The "new normal" will depend on the governments and their policies to recovering the coronavirus outbreak effects. However, it is worth highlighting that there is no global governance. Moreover, the effect of the pandemic is not the same for all countries. Therefore, the challenge is to predict a new normal of life for a global manner. The new life models for each country will surely be different from 2019, as some behaviours and routines will be changed indefinitely, especially regarding healthcare systems, work-life, trade, and traveling.

Covid 19 In Southeast Asia written by Hyun Bang Shin and has been published by LSE Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-01-06 with Social Science categories.

COVID-19 has presented huge challenges to governments, businesses, civil societies, and people from all walks of life, but its impact has been highly variegated, affecting society in multiple negative ways, with uneven geographical and socioeconomic patterns. The crisis revealed existing contradictions and inequalities in society, compelling us to question what it means to return to “normal” and what insights can be gleaned from Southeast Asia for thinking about a post-pandemic world. In this regard, this edited volume collects the informed views of an ensemble of social scientists – area studies, development studies, and legal scholars; anthropologists, architects, economists, geographers, planners, sociologists, and urbanists; representing academic institutions, activist and charitable organisations, policy and research institutes, and areas of professional practice – who recognise the necessity of critical commentary and engaged scholarship. These contributions represent a wide-ranging set of views, collectively producing a compilation of reflections on the following three themes in particular: (1) Urbanisation, digital infrastructures, economies, and the environment; (2) Migrants, (im)mobilities, and borders; and (3) Collective action, communities, and mutual action. Overall, this edited volume first aims to speak from a situated position in relevant debates to challenge knowledge about the pandemic that has assigned selective and inequitable visibility to issues, people, or places, or which through its inferential or interpretive capacity has worked to set social expectations or assign validity to certain interventions with a bearing on the pandemic’s course and the future it has foretold. Second, it aims to advance or renew understandings of social challenges, risks, or inequities that were already in place, and which, without further or better action, are to be features of our “post-pandemic world” as well. This volume also contributes to the ongoing efforts to de-centre and decolonise knowledge production. It endeavours to help secure a place within these debates for a region that was among the first outside of East Asia to be forced to contend with COVID-19 in a substantial way and which has evinced a marked and instructive diversity and dynamism in its fortunes.

This book highlights the impacts of COVID-19 on the global economy, at a time when the world economy has experienced large demand and supply shocks. To limit the transmission of the corona virus, all governments shut down production, restricted movement of people, etc, which led to severe curtailment in demand, and disruptions in supply chains all over the world. The COVID-19 pandemic has dragged the world economy into an abrupt and unforeseen recession. According to IMF estimates, world GDP will fall by over 3 percent due to the outbreak of this pandemic - the steepest slowdown since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The ILO has predicted a loss of about 25 million jobs due to this pandemic. Emerging markets will lose at least 2.4 percent of their GDP in 2020 alone. Loss in global travel revenue due to COVID-19 is estimated at USD 810.7 billion. Financial markets have been badly hit and about USD 83 million has been pulled out of developing markets since the outbreak of COVID-19. The list of sectors impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, is endless All governments have announced stimulus packages comprising a mix of fiscal and monetary measures, but it is difficult to predict how quickly businesses will respond to these measures. The papers in this book, which are the proceedings of an online global conference, have attempted to analyze and summarize the thoughts of academicians on these vexed issues.
