Es werden einige Lernstrategien und -techniken eingehend dargestellt. Darüber hinaus werden unterschiedliche Lerntypen und die Förderung des autonomen Lernens erklärt. Bei Wortschatzarbeit handelt es sich um das verstehende Einprägen, Üben und Beherrschen von Wörtern. Beim Fremdsprachlernen hat man auch unterschiedliche Erwartungen und verschiedenen Strategien. Manche sind der Meinung, sie brauchen nur einfach ABC lernen, deshalb haben nicht so hohe Anforderung für Wortschatz. Manche möchten Fremdsprachen sehr gut erlernen, deswegen merken sie viele Wörter mithilfe viele Techniken. Zum Beispiel ist Rückgriff auf die Muttersprache, vernetztes Lernen et cetera. Außerdem gibt es auch inzidentelles Lernen. Laut Sprachlehrforschung haben sich die methodischen Verfahren zum Vokabel lernen immer mehr an den psycholinguistischen Ergebnissen richtet.

Diese Lernstrategien spielen f r den gesamten Zusammenhang des autonomen Lernens eine gro e Rolle. Bei der Durchsicht der Fachliteratur wurde deutlich, dass das autonome Lernen besonders im Zweit- und Fremdsprachenbereich essentiell ist, da hier mit intrinsischer Motivation erfolgreiches Lernen erreicht werden kann.
