This book is the prequel to “The Darkness & The Light”, also by Angel Power. These are the stories that go with the poetry. It is creatively broken down into metaphorical phases of a young woman’s transformation. Based on a true story, except for one fictitious scene that was written for therapeutic purposes, it begins with the end and ends with the beginning. Candid and raw, it exposes the dark reality of her tragic experiences and shares how she found the resilience to survive and transform. It will take you on a journey through overcoming exploitation, abuse, human trafficking, addictions, poverty, mental health challenges, the loss of a child, and more. It will explain stigma and the corruption of the social systems that claim to protect the most vulnerable. This will enlighten the reader to systemic injustices and the impacts on our vulnerable youth when protection is needed most. There is often prejudice toward high-risk youth and the challenges they face, especially those trying to cope with unmet needs. This book will bring validation to the reader from young adult to the guardians trying to protect them, as well as those who work in the field of trying to help them. It exposes some of the power imbalances and barriers that many women of all ages can face. In these confusing and scary times, exploitation continues to be on the rise and stigma still exists. It is hoped that this book will empower the victimized to find healthy coping mechanisms and natural ways of self-healing. For those who wish to protect them it may also provide some insights into never giving up the good fight that it takes in order to do so.

Man S Fate And God S Choice written by Bhimeswara Challa and has been published by Trafford Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-02-09 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

The world today is facing a bewildering array of problems where human behavior is both brazen and bizarre. Those who are searching for a way out are daring to ask fundamental questions: What is man’s rightful place? Are we a doomed species? Is God becoming weary of mankind? In Man’s Fate and God’s Choice, Bhimeswara Challa shares his comprehensive study of human behavior that suggests that the very paradigm of our thinking is inappropriate for the current challenges we face. In a thoughtful, innovative presentation of ideas, Challa posits that any betterment in human behavior needs a cathartic change at the deepest level, ultimately reawakening the intelligence of the human heart. He begins by examining the greatest challenge of this generation of human beings and continues by placing the multiple identities of man in perspective, reviewing our growing insensitivity to human suffering. Finally, he looks to the living world for inspiration, metaphors, and models for human transformation. Man’s Fate and God’s Choice incisively covers an array of issues and proposes an agenda for action as it challenges those who see misery and ask “Why?” to also see the promise in the rainbow and then ask “Why not?”

Bareface written by Doris T. Myers and has been published by University of Missouri Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-02-16 with Literary Criticism categories.

C. S. Lewis wanted to name his last novel “Bareface.” Now Doris T. Myers’s Bareface provides a welcome study of Lewis’s last, most profound, and most skillfully written novel, Till We Have Faces. Although many claim it is his best novel, Till We Have Faces is a radical departure from the fantasy genre of Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters and has been less popular than Lewis’s earlier works. In Bareface, Myers supplies background information on this difficult work and suggests reading techniques designed to make it more accessible to general readers. She also presents a fresh approach to Lewis criticism for the enjoyment of specialists. Previous studies have often treated the novel as mere myth, ignoring Lewis’s effort to present the story of Cupid and Psyche as something that could have happened. Myers emphasizes the historical background, the grounding of the characterizations in modern psychology, and the thoroughly realistic narrative presentation. She identifies key books in ancient and medieval literature, history, and philosophy that influenced Lewis’s thinking as well as pointing out a previously unnoticed affinity with William James. From this context, a clearer understanding of Till We Have Faces can emerge. Approached in this way, the work can be seen as a realistic twentieth-century novel using modernist techniques such as the unreliable narrator and the manipulation of time. The major characters fit neatly into William James’s typology of religious experience, and Orual, the narrator-heroine, also develops the kind of personal maturity described by Carl Jung. At the same time, both setting and plot provide insights into the ancient world and pre-Christian modes of thought. Organized to facilitate browsing according to the reader’s personal interests and needs, this study helps readers explore this complex and subtle novel in their own way. Containing fresh insights that even the most experienced Lewis scholar will appreciate, Bareface is an accomplishment worthy of Lewis’s lifelong contemplation.

The collection thus invites the reader to understand how the inhabitants of these societies seek to affirm both an individual identity and a sense of belonging to the contemporary world. In doing so, it informs the reader about the contemporary realities experienced by the inhabitants of the South Pacific, with a view to contributing to an intercultural dialogue between the reader and these inhabitants.

Vladimir Nabokov In Context written by David M. Bethea and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-25 with Literary Criticism categories.

Vladimir Nabokov, bilingual writer of dazzling masterpieces, is a phenomenon that both resists and requires contextualization. This book challenges the myth of Nabokov as a sole genius who worked in isolation from his surroundings, as it seeks to anchor his work firmly within the historical, cultural, intellectual and political contexts of the turbulent twentieth century. Vladimir Nabokov in Context maps the ever-changing sites, people, cultures and ideologies of his itinerant life which shaped the production and reception of his work. Concise and lively essays by leading scholars reveal a complex relationship of mutual influence between Nabokov's work and his environment. Appealing to a wide community of literary scholars this timely companion to Nabokov's writing offers new insights and approaches to one of the most important, and yet most elusive writers of modern literature.
