La voce è il nostro strumento primordiale, rappresenta il primo canale di comunicazione sin dalla nascita, è la nostra \"impronta digitale\", manifesta noi stessi, la nostra identità e la nostra presenza. In Musicoterapia la voce ha un ruolo fondamentale: è infatti la base, o meglio, il primissimo mezzo di comunicazione con l'altro. Dopo un quadro generale sulla Musicoterapia e sulle caratteristiche della voce, sia da un punto di vista filosofico (voce in quanto suono), sia da quello fisiologico (voce come apparato fonatorio), gli Autori entrano nel merito delle funzioni e degli usi pratici della voce in Musicoterapia; vengono trattati anche aspetti quali la struttura di un incontro musicoterapico e gli obiettivi generali del canto e dell'improvvisazione, nella speranza di contribuire a migliorare l'impostazione della relazione con i pazienti, grazie all'uso, al potere e all'alto valore terapico della voce.
