This volume contains the proceedings of the Second Joint IFSA-EC and EURO-WGFS Workshop on Progress in Fuzzy Sets in Europe held on April 6 -8, 1989 in Vienna, Austria. The workshop was organized by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang H. Janko from the University of Economics in Vienna under the auspices of IFSA-EC, the European chapter of the International Fuzzy Systems Association, and EURO-WGFS, the working group on Fuzzy Sets of the Association of Eu ropean Operational Research Societies. The workshop gathered more than 30 participants coming from Western European countries (Austria, Bel gium, England, Germany, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Scotland and Spain) Eastern European countries (Bulgaria, the German Federal Repu blic, Hungary and Poland) and non-European countries such as China and Japan. The 15 selected and refereed papers included in the volume are in prin ciple the author's own versions, with limited editorial changes and small corrections. They are arranged in alphabetical order. I wish to thank all the contributors for their valuable papers and an outstan ding cooperation in the editorial project. I also would like to express my sincere thanks to Professor Dr. H. J. Zimmermann for the cooperation in the refereeing procedure.

Fuzzy Sets And Their Extensions Representation Aggregation And Models written by Humberto Bustince and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-10-30 with Computers categories.

This carefully edited book presents an up-to-date state of current research in the use of fuzzy sets and their extensions. It pays particular attention to foundation issues and to their application to four important areas where fuzzy sets are seen to be an important tool for modeling and solving problems. The book’s 34 chapters deal with the subject with clarity and effectiveness. They include four review papers introducing some non-standard representations

Aggregation Functions written by Michel Grabisch and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-07-09 with Computers categories.

Aggregation is the process of combining several numerical values into a single representative value, and an aggregation function performs this operation. These functions arise wherever aggregating information is important: applied and pure mathematics (probability, statistics, decision theory, functional equations), operations research, computer science, and many applied fields (economics and finance, pattern recognition and image processing, data fusion, etc.). This is a comprehensive, rigorous and self-contained exposition of aggregation functions. Classes of aggregation functions covered include triangular norms and conorms, copulas, means and averages, and those based on nonadditive integrals. The properties of each method, as well as their interpretation and analysis, are studied in depth, together with construction methods and practical identification methods. Special attention is given to the nature of scales on which values to be aggregated are defined (ordinal, interval, ratio, bipolar). It is an ideal introduction for graduate students and a unique resource for researchers.

Fuzzy Set Theory written by R. Lowen and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Mathematics categories.

The purpose of this book is to provide the reader who is interested in applications of fuzzy set theory, in the first place with a text to which he or she can refer for the basic theoretical ideas, concepts and techniques in this field and in the second place with a vast and up to date account of the literature. Although there are now many books about fuzzy set theory, and mainly about its applications, e. g. in control theory, there is not really a book available which introduces the elementary theory of fuzzy sets, in what I would like to call "a good degree of generality". To write a book which would treat the entire range of results concerning the basic theoretical concepts in great detail and which would also deal with all possible variants and alternatives of the theory, such as e. g. rough sets and L-fuzzy sets for arbitrary lattices L, with the possibility-probability theories and interpretations, with the foundation of fuzzy set theory via multi-valued logic or via categorical methods and so on, would have been an altogether different project. This book is far more modest in its mathematical content and in its scope.

Neutrosophic theory and applications have been expanding in all directions at an astonishing rate especially after the introduction the journal entitled “Neutrosophic Sets and Systems”. New theories, techniques, algorithms have been rapidly developed. One of the most striking trends in the neutrosophic theory is the hybridization of neutrosophic set with other potential sets such as rough set, bipolar set, soft set, hesitant fuzzy set, etc.

We present an expected value based method for multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM), where the preference values of alternatives and the importance of attributes are expressed in terms of neutrosophic trapezoidal numbers (NTrNs). First, we introduce an expected value formula for NTrNs to be used in MAGDM.
