Gayatri Mantra Lekhan is the practice of writing the Gayatri Mantra repeatedly, which is believed to be a potent form of meditation and devotion in Hinduism. This practice involves inscribing the mantra on paper or in a dedicated journal, often with the intent of reaching a specific number of repetitions, such as 108. The act of writing the mantra helps focus the mind, enhances concentration, and reinforces the spiritual vibrations of the sacred chant. It is considered a powerful method to purify the mind and soul, promote inner peace, and invoke divine blessings. Engaging in Gayatri Mantra Lekhan is said to deepen one's connection to the divine, promote spiritual growth, and manifest positive energies in one's life.

THE FLOW OF THE ETERNALScience is yet to arrive at a final definition of life. It still divides everything into the living and the dead. But poets of lore treated it as a continuous flow from the life of the universe to the life of the tiniest sub-atomic particle and back. They experienced it and gave expression to the experience. The Vedas and the Upanishads are collections of these expressions. The art of yoga is the way to the experience, the essence of which is the process and the product of integration of one's life with the life of the universe.Fusion is the key word. Fusion of light with darkness, hate with love, knowledge with ignorance and so on. It is highly rewarding. Art and literature are means to it.In the oriental tradition of aesthetics, beauty is the state of an appreciable standard of integration. The greater it is, the more beautiful. The most beautiful is the perfectly integrated. It is the goal of life and the unmanifest persuasion behind all variations and explorations. So poetry like any other human endeavour should aspire to achieve it.Dr. Balakrishnan's poems do exactly that. His training and experience makes him amply qualified. He is a physician, he has seen various specimens of integration or the lack of it in terms of body parts and emotional inputs. He has apparently had his holy bath in texts of yore, the essence of the teachings going into him much deeper than skin. He knows, not just by theory but by practice too.THE FLOW OF THE ETERNALWell, what is the eternal? None else than the only factor that continues unchanged and unchangeable in us all through our lives and beyond. There is proof for the existence of such a factor. It can be discerned by four simple questions and the common-sense answers to them. Q.1: Is it or is it not right to suppose that there is an underlying force behind this vast and complicated universe? None can say it is not there. Q.2: Where can that force be residing - in a corner of the universe or everywhere in it simultaneously? Everywhere is the natural answer. Q.3: Should that force not be in us too as we too are in the universe? Of course, it should. Q.4: In that case, everything else in us being ephemeral, is it not the real us? The answer is the mahavakya 'Tat Twam Asi'.The problem is it is beyond words so all verbal effort to grasp it will come to nothing. But words can take us to its door step. This is what Dr. Balakrishnan's poetry does. And he does it beautifully. Mystic poets and Zen story tellers did the same in their own style. This poet does it in the style of our time.

Presenting a brand new collection of more than 200 poems that generously engage with various poetic devices. A must-have collection for readers who want to flirt with the classical 'old world' charm of poetry that is also firmly anchored in fresh breaths of contemporary themes. The author paints vivid, ambient, and emotional landscapes with words, stitching fantastical narratives that catch you off guard. A poem on pressure cookers? Eggs, paperweights, pistachios, bears speaking French, a rat dating a nightingale, chickens entering the disco? These and several such surreal metaphors creatively explore grander concerns that also embody acute observations of human life and deeper layers of our collective psyche. Dollops of wit, romance, humor, hope, and satire have been lavishly scattered throughout the book, highlighting different shades of many elucidated topics. To summarize, this book is enamored with rich, intricately layered imagery and ideas in writing that probe a multitude of dimensions while maintaining affinity to the literary quality of its works.

Although a few books dealing with some specialised aspects of regional planning have appeared in India, there has been no systematic treatment of the subject from the teaching angle, embracing the whole field of regional planning, drawing attention to to the work done by Indian scholars and focusing on Indian problems. The present book is an attempt in this direction. The 12 chapters of the book, besides dealing with the concepts, methods and techniques of regional planning, have been devoted to specific problems in regional development such as regional imbalances, rural development, backward area development and tribal area development. This provides the necessary orientation to the directions in which regional planning is relevant.

Torn between love and karma. What is he doing here Sivadasini thought when she met John Wayne at the Happiness Yogalya. Then she didn’t have the least idea that she would have to travel unknown paths because of him. John felt that, “this Indian beauty is my girl” but Sivadasini ignored her own feelings for him. “I have enough troubles already in my life,” she thought as she could not think of resisting her orthodox mother. Invisible strings of love were woven between them. Still Sivadasini could not get over her insecurities which threw them both worlds apart in the same city. Was their lives going to go on like that- with their love withering- or would some spiritual power intervene and help them find happiness?
