Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2000 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Sonstiges, Note: 1, Universität Regensburg (Psychologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden am Beispiel gentechnisch veränderter Lebensmittel Risikowahrnehmung und Risikoakzeptanz anhand einer Stichprobe von 503 Studierenden untersucht. Dabei wird der Frage nachgegangen, welchen Einfluss das Wissen über gentechnisch veränderte Lebensmittel, die Einstellung zu ihnen, die Präferenz für Nahrungsmittel aus ökologischem Anbau sowie bestimmte Mediennutzungsgewohnheiten auf Risikowahrnehmung und Risikoakzeptanz haben und wie diese Variablen untereinander zusammenhängen. Die Datenerhebung erfolgt an der Universität Regensburg vor und nach einer eigens entwickelten Informationskampagne zum Thema Genfood (mit Informationsblättern, Informationsstand, Schautafel, Homepage) mit Hilfe von Fragebögen. Durch das experimentelle Design soll herausgefunden werden, welchen Einfluss die in der Informationskampagne dargebotene, neutral gehaltene Information auf die gemessenen Variablen hat. Rund zwei Drittel der Befragten halten das von gentechnisch veränderten Lebensmitteln ausgehende Risiko für hoch, haben eine insgesamt negative Einstellung zu ihnen und würden entsprechende Produkte nicht kaufen. Den größten Einfluss auf die Risikoakzeptanz hat die Einstellung zu Genfood – die Präferenz für Produkte aus ökologischen Anbau hat nur einen mäßigen, das Wissen über Genfood keinen Einfluss. Die Informationskampagne führt zu einer Erhöhung des Wissens über Genfood, aber zu keiner Änderung von Risikowahrnehmung und Risikoakzeptanz. Die ablehnende und kritische Haltung gegenüber gentechnisch veränderten Lebensmitteln ist bei Laien größer als bei Experten, bei Frauen größer als bei Männern und bei Vpn, die Informationsmaterial von umweltorientierten Herausgebern gelesen haben, größer als bei Lesern von Informationsmaterial anderer Herausgeber. Die Ergebnisse werden durch den Vergleich mit anderen Untersuchungen in Deutschland und Europa bestätigt. Insgesamt kann gesagt werden, dass für die Haltung zu gentechnisch veränderten Lebensmitteln das Wissen über diese Produkte ohne Bedeutung ist. Entscheidend ist die Einstellung zu ihnen (d.h. alltagsweltlich geprägte Werte, Meinungen und Gefühle), die durch die selektive Nutzung von teilweise sehr einseitigen, emotional gefärbten Medieninhalten zusätzlich verstärkt wird.
