L'idée d'un renouvellement de la politique fondé sur les qualités dites féminines se reflète-t-elle dans les stratégies communicationnelles des partis ? Comment les femmes en politique gèrent-elles leur image dans la presse ? Voilà quelques-unes des questions traitées dans la première partie de l'ouvrage qui a pour objet la médiatisation du parcours de femmes et d'hommes politiques français et canadiens. Les études de cas portent, entre autres, sur François Hollande, Ségolène Royal, Marine Le Pen, Christiane Taubira, Pauline Marois, Christy Clark, Alison Bedford et Danielle Smith.
