English summary: The blooming of ancient thought throughout the Renaissance and the Early Modern Age took place mainly in the shape of late antique philosophy. Many of its characteristic main features have influenced modern thought in a defining manner. In the present book, Theo Kobusch addresses those features which still determine our thinking today. Although this intellectual heritage, both in its ancient and modern forms, has largely been forgotten, it is however worth remembering that modern thought is indebted to an intellectual transformation on a large scale. La rencontre de la théorie narrative allemande avec la narratologie peut sembler témoigner d'un retard par rapport aux évolutions des études littéraires en France. Pourtant, les treize articles réunis dans cet ouvrage, issus du Groupe de Recherche en Narratologie de l'Université de Hambourg, suggèrent qu'il n'en est rien. Structuraliste à l'origine, la narratologie, tributaire depuis quelques années du « tournant narratif » dans les sciences humaines, connaît une renaissance florissante à l'échelle internationale. C'est dans ce contexte que les narratologues de Hambourg - germanistes, romanistes, slavistes et anglicistes, tous fins connaisseurs des courants actuels dans ce domaine - offrent un corpus de recherche innovateur et éminemment transdisciplinaire. Certains concepts et méthodes narratologiques sont évalués dans une perspective historique (les situations narratives chez Stanzel, genèse et évolution de la notion d'auteur implicite, etc.), d'autres concepts et méthodes, destinés à l'analyse du récit, sont mis en place (constitution du modèle narratif, l'événement narratif, construction de l'intrigue, etc.). Subjectivity and Identity is a philosophical and interdisciplinary study that critically evaluates critically the most important philosophical, sociological, psychological and literary debates on subjectivity and the subject. Starting from a history of the concept of the subject from modernity to postmodernity - from Descartes and Kant to Adorno and Lyotard - Peter V. Zima distinguishes between individual, collective, mythical and other subjects. Most texts on subjectivity and the subject present the topic from the point of view of a single discipline: philosophy, sociology, psychology or theory of literature. In Subjectivity and Identity Zima links philosophical approaches to those of sociology, psychology and literary criticism. The link between philosophy and sociology is social philosophy (e.g. Althusser, Marcuse, Habermas), the link between philosophy and literary criticism is aesthetics (e.g. Adorno, Lyotard, Vattimo). Philosophy and psychology can be related thanks to the psychological implications of several philosophical concepts of subjectivity (Hobbes, Stirner, Sartre).
