Hay en el neobarroco nuestroamericano una doble operación, que es la que le da el título a este ensayo. Por un lado, de ingesta ritual, antropofágica, de nuestra tradición europea e indígena, urbana y canyengue, culta y marginal. Ingesta, asimismo, de las estrategias de seducción del barroco, estrategias de deseo. Ingesta, por momentos voraz, de una tradición que no es sólo occidental: los neobarrocos son auténticos apropiadores de elementos de diversos universos culturales, desde mitos precolombinos a Haikou japoneses. Y así como es ingesta y apropiación laboriosa, el neobarroco es operación de desacople de la ideología reaccionaria postridentina. El barroco nuestroamericano se pliega a las luchas de los desheredados de la tierra a través de una escritura plena de lujosos divertimentos pero consciente de los estragos de una emancipación malograda, extraviada, fallida, con lo que el pathos de la rebelión no está perdido. De ahí la necesidad del metal tajante que hunda su filo cuando la urdimbre se vuelva demasiado concesiva o viscosa. La hermenéutica neobarroca nuestroamericana, en su doble carácter de poética y dispositivo lector, es así (antropo)fagia, consumo selectivo. Y es (a)tajo, corte, incisión.

Il volume nasce dal lavoro di ricercatori argentini e italiani nell’ambito di un progetto di interscambio culturale promosso dal Cuia e dal Conicet, coordinato da Cecilia Abdo Ferez e Domenico Scalzo. Si tratta di una raccolta di saggi discussi in due convegni svoltisi a Buenos Aires, intorno ad alcuni momenti del pensiero politico italiano, europeo e argentino. L’idea che lo guida concerne il tentativo di una comprensione filosofica, che vuole essere allo stesso tempo una traduzione in altro da sé, della modernità europea. Al centro del libro è la logica delle grandi parole della politica occidentale, la sua idea di origine, di Stato, di repubblica e di popolo, ovvero le modalità della loro imposizione al di là dell’Atlantico; ma anche una riflessione circa i suoi immancabili contraccolpi storici, ossia sugli esiti diversi e inattesi che l’elaborazione dei suoi concetti in America Latina restituisce nel dibattito attuale. Potenza del pensiero dove un’esigenza di giustizia va cercando nel presente la liberazione del passato oppresso come la sola chance che può dare nerbo e futuro a un’urgente politica dei governati. L’ora della leggibilità dell’opera che si ha in mano deve considerarsi il concetto di populismo, così come esso è declinato nella storia argentina (si pensi alla tradizione peronista e a un filosofo come Laclau) e nella recente esperienza italiana ed europea. Tra le sue pagine pensatori come Machiavelli, soprattutto, e poi Guicciardini o Alberti dialogano con Las Casas, oppure con testimoni della conquista come Guamán Poma, anche attraverso le voci della filosofia novecentesca o contemporanea europea e argentina più in armonia con la trama di rovesciamenti e di conflitti che il popolo istituisce quando esso è a guardia della libertà.
