This story was originally written for Nate-Nate by Mommy K so that he might understand just how much he was wanted and loved from the beginning. It was not meant to be published. I, Mommy K, wrote it solely for him. Only after years have passed did I realize that Nate-Nate's adoption story might also help other adopted children and the parents that had to give them up have an understanding of the difficult decisions that were made on their behalf. So often adopted children, especially those that were in foster care, have assumptions about starting out life as "unwanted" children. In most cases this assumption is so far from the truth. While it is true that immaturity, lack of emotional or financial support, addictions, and family pressures are some of the reasons that parents choose to give up their children for adoption, or are forced to, hardly ever were they not wanted. God's plan was much different than my plan for Nate-Nate. He knew better than I what events would change my plans. He always knew the best family for Nate-Nate. I was a foster parent for this special little boy and for a few other kids along my life's journey. When I chose to adopt, I had no idea that my health would take a sudden turn for the worse but God did. When I first encountered Nate-Nate's forever family, I had no idea that they would become his parents but God did. This story may seem sad at times. Like every truly happy ending, there had to be a journey of the heart. That journey for us was not what we had expected. It was instead the perfect plan, God's plan for Nate-Nate.

During the seventeenth century, English Puritan pastors often encouraged their congregations in the spiritual discipline of meditating on God and His Word. Today, however, much of evangelicalism is either ignorant of or turned off to the idea of meditation. In God’s Battle Plan for the Mind , pastor David Saxton seeks to convince God’s people of the absolute necessity for personal meditation and motivate them to begin this work themselves. But he has not done this alone. Rather, he has labored through numerous Puritan works in order to bring together the best of their insights on meditation. Standing on the shoulders of these giants, Saxton teaches us how to meditate on divine truth and gives valuable guidance about how to rightly pattern our thinking throughout the day. With the rich experiential theology of the Puritans, this book lays out a course for enjoying true meditation on God’s Word. Table of Contents: 1. The Importance of Recovering the Joyful Habit of Biblical Meditation 2. Unbiblical Forms of Meditation 3. Defining Biblical Meditation 4. Occasional Meditation 5. Deliberate Meditation 6. The Practice of Meditation 7. Important Occasions for Meditation 8. Choosing Subjects for Meditation 9. The Reasons for Meditation 10. The Benefits of Meditation 11. The Enemies of Meditation 12. Getting Started: Beginning the Habit of Meditation Conclusion: Thoughts on Meditation and Personal Godliness

In life we go through valleys and mountaintops, as well as pain and disappointments. We experience the loss of loved ones and the joy of newborns. As Christians, we have to understand that just because we are children of God, that doesn't mean life will be a bed of roses. But we will have God with us through the trials. God made us to be dependent on Him. It's hard to stay dependent on Him, however, because we always want to figure things out ourselves and leave God out of our circumstances until He becomes the last resort. This book teaches us the power of prayer and the love, healing, and miracles that happen when we allow God to be in control of our lives when the floor falls out from underneath us and we can't figure out what God's plan is. When we finally learn what He is trying to teach us, no matter what we go through, we will be stronger when the trial is over.

Man Enough challenges the idea that there is one way to be a man. The masculinity that pervades our church and culture often demands that men conform to a macho ideal, leaving many men feeling ashamed that they’re not living up to God’s plan for them. Nate uses his own story of not feeling “man enough”, as well as sociological and historical reflections, to help men see that manhood isn’t about what you do, but who you are. It’s not about the size of your paycheck, your athletic ability, or your competitive spirit. You don’t have to fit any masculine stereotype to be a real man. In our culture and churches more thoughtful, quieter, or compassionate personalities, as well as stay-at-home dads, are often looked down upon; and sermons, conferences, and publications center on helping men become “real men”. This pressure to have one’s manhood validated is antithetical to Gospel living and negatively affects how men relate to each other, to women and children, and to God. Man Enough roots men in the Gospel, examines biblical examples of masculinity that challenge the idea of a singular type of man, and ultimately encourages men to conform to the image of Jesus—freeing men up to be who they were created to be: a son of God who uniquely bears His image.

On June 3rd, 2007, right after competing in his first surfing contest, Nate Lytle sensed that surfing may have become a distraction in hearing from God. As he drove home that night, Nate made a commitment to God that he wouldn't surf for a whole year. The next day Nate fell from the top of a ten foot ladder, shattering his skull and leaving him with a severe brain injury. Nate was not expected to live, and even if he did survive, the doctors said he would never walk, talk, or communicate again. As word spread about Nates condition, his surfing buddies urged one another on with the phrase "Pray for Nate." More God tells the compelling story of how God brought back Nate from the brink of death and put him in the very unique position of speaking truth into the lives of those who cannot speak for themselves.

God is getting His Church ready for coming revival, a great ingathering of the harvest, and end-time persecution. The Great Commission can be fulfilled very quickly by a multiplication of simple house-churches. "If the Church will look at your simple but thorough description of what the New Testament Church looked like, and return to that simplicity, we truly can see the Great Commission fulfilled in our time." - Jim Montgomery, DAWN Ministries "This is the simplest book you'll ever find on the house church, yet it still covers all the basics: practical matters like finances, how to handle blabbermouths, and what to do with the kids. It also covers, very concisely, the foundational matters. Easy reading from a sophisticated writer." - James H. Rutz, Open Church Ministries "As I read God's Simple Plan for His Church, by Nate Krupp, I was struck with the impression that this man was not giving forth theory or philosophy, but rather the deep convictions coming out of years of experience and study. I can see God's Simple Plan being used as a reference book by house church planters and leaders from now until Jesus comes back." - Robert Fitts, Sr., House-church planter "I'm returning to Russia with strong plans to do this work in my country, to renew the Church in the Spirit of Christ. I know I'm not alone in this job, because of your book." - (name withheld), Professor in Moscow, Russia

This book offers a new analysis of Nathan's Oracle in 2 Samuel 7 and its echoes in the books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. First, it deals separately with the main issues raised in 2 Samuel 7: the disqualification of David as temple builder and the nature of the Divine promise made to him that the House of David will rule forever. In dealing with both elements similar texts from the Ancient Near East are consulted. After a thorough analysis of these two elements, an intertextual study is offered in which the allusions to Nathan's Oracle in the Books Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles are discussed. The purpose is to define the various functions of these allusions or echoes. This evaluation takes into account the changing circumstances of the Davidic dynasty, as well as the different agendas of the books in which Nathan's Oracle is incorporated in.
